4/10/2026 8:28pm “Close to” a 1000w sprinting and 1500w of instant torque are much different beasts. The fact this has basically as much torque as cars that weigh 3000+lbs is nuts.

4/24/2024 9:23am I think there is a difference between maximum, overall power a brake puts in and when that power comes on. Most riders will likely never experience or leverage a brakes full power. Using a theoretical example, if you have a lever that takes 8 inches of lever pull to get max power, that power is going to be less realized by most than a lever that takes 3 inches of stroke to reach max power. Meanwhile, some may require more force at the lever to put power down, others less. This is why some brakes may dyno really powerful, but...

3/20/2024 3:32pm I'm not sure an Mtb forum is really the best venue to argue about rape conviction rates to be honest.

3/20/2024 2:51pm This starts to be a bit of witch hunt. No one knows anything but everyone is already a judge. Maybe time to move on. As posted above, France has a strong law system and if there was a crime committed, it will be prosecuted.

3/20/2024 2:50pm The adverse publicity just from the allegation may have been enough for them to let him go. I would have thought he would've been charged by now if the police (and the prosecution service) believed there was a case, seeing as this goes all the way back to last summer. From what I've seen he hasn't been, although I don't know if laws on confidentiality are different in France to the UK. I say this because a guy I know was falsely accused of rape, was charged and named by the press within a couple of weeks of the accusation...

3/20/2024 2:37pm Naw, it’s a fundamentally flawed design and manufacturing process (in terms of composites engineering), from what I can see from their prototype manufacturing pictures, as well as from Kerr’s broken frame pictures — in my opinion. Also, the fact that something is a prototype doesn’t mean that it’s permissible to utilize a dangerously designed / engineered / manufactured product, which could result in the substantial impairment or death of an athlete. The first flaw is the straight-insertion of the top tube AND the down tube into the lug, at the same draw angle. As such, if the bond isn’t perfect...

6/27/2023 1:49pm I'm REALLY confused. If you're falling off track, why is anyone responsible for what you land on? The wall ride at Leogang doesn't have a ceiling. The rocks in the ground at Ft. Bill don't all face away from you. You can't pad every tree. Heck, I'm still of the mind of "why the hell are we padding trees?" It's a 2 wheeled balance bike screaming down only a few dozen mountains even want to take the risk of having us. He's talking about landing on his head on a rock off course. What all in the world could you...

6/27/2023 1:48pm This is one of those things that is turning me against Discovery ESO. They talked about increasing safety but also mislead people by claiming that increasing to 2 race runs would not increase injuries. That's patently false to anyone with a C level understanding of statistics. Double the runs = double the risk, and that ignores rider fatigue as a factor Stuff like this, the lack of a safe B zone is just another strike showing ESO doesn't care about rider safety enough to take minimal steps to improve safety. I'm actively trying to give ESO a chance, but it's...
