9/5/2019 4:11pm can anyone tell me why the 29 inch version can replace 160-180 mm fork but the 27.5 can only replace 160-170? since when can you get more travel from a 29inch fork than a 27.5?

8/16/2019 12:30pm @ccolagio anything 30mm or above run the WT. If your running 25mm just run the standard sizing.

7/8/2019 3:39pm Also speculation but maybe its similar to television shows that have to ask companies for the rights to use their logos?

7/8/2019 3:35pm pure speculation on my end, but i'd imagine it's not so much bitterness as just not wanting to work for free or give anything away for free. not sure how it all works in the end though.

7/8/2019 3:35pm Loic and Finn switch to Maxxis in 2019 and dominate. Gwin, Mulally, Moir switch to Kenda, not so much.

6/19/2019 3:52pm I recall greg saying recently that he thinks modern frame geo and sizing makes a bigger difference than wheel size. Says a lot coming from the guy that basically brought 29 to DH.

6/19/2019 3:49pm That’s because they don’t have a choice. When the manufacturers don’t make any other options, that’s what everyone is stuck with.

6/19/2019 3:48pm I wouldn't mind 26er with a current geo. Everyone is talking about 29er as being fantastic, which it is possible for very tall riders (over 1m90 I'd say) but not bringing much for other riders. Skills is the real differenciator, then geo, tyres, suspension quality and then wheel size maybe. At the park on a straight line fire road my 27.5 DH bike rolls faster than my friends' 29ers so the famous faster rolling thing depends on many more things that rim diameter itself. I bet a 26er with current geo would probably do as well as any other wheel...

6/13/2019 3:46pm It's a prototype. Vast majority of manufacturers use Alloy for quick, cheap(ish) prototypes. Get he geo set, ordre up a $15k-$35k mold for the carbon. Each material has it's place and pros/cons.

6/13/2019 3:45pm If you don't think a carbon version of this bike is in the works, you're most likely mistaken. When the Demo went from 26" to 650b (the bike Troy won Ft Bill on), it was made in aluminum first. I'd bet dollars to donuts that this bike will be commercially launched in carbon. These bikes are alu because they are early versions.

6/11/2019 8:57am AL is here definitely for quicker testing. Same with Stump EVO which arrived first in AL to test the market. As for other parts, maybe just the preference of riders / what is available by their sponsors / what makes most sense for DH race. I can image that AL bars are here in case of crashing and still being able to get on bike and finish which would probably not happen with carbon bars.
