6/7/2025 8:10am I'm at Leogang this weekend and wanted to get a sense of how widely pedal kickback devices have been adopted by World Cuppers, along with all the other wild accessories like TMD's/shakeweights, electronics, gearboxes, and more. So out of curiosity and as a service to my fellow nerds, I stood at the top of Q1 today and counted all the devices I could. Note that certain devices were almost certainly undercounted, like shakeweights, added mass, and fancy chainring devices like Ochain or Rimpact (drivetrains were facing away from me in the starting lineup). There were 20 bikes total where I...

6/5/2025 6:09pm I see Wyn’s reason for anger. Didn’t he fight as a privateer to move and up where he is now? He wants others to have the same opportunity not have mommy and daddy buy spots on teams. He IMO has done more good for the sport of late than anyone else. So yiu know Im going to continue to believe he if fighting a fight he feels is right and not just an old man yelling get off my lawn.

6/4/2025 7:50am Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the whole promise of cutting the field down to 30 riders was to make it so they could show all 30 of those runs in their entirety. It seems like WBD moved the goalposts on that front pretty hard if I'm remembering correctly.

5/7/2025 12:09pm Fuck those cranks. There's SUCH a good structural reason why holes in cranks are a bad idea, with the exception of the sram cranks. The reason that all those 5dev cranks break despite not being very lightweight is 100 level shit, and I hate that the mtb industry is stupid enough to entertain it. A 2 dimensional truss structure is fucking terrible in torsion, and most of the crank arm sees a LOT of torsion. Then you've got all the stress concentrations with all the internal corners, and that multiplies your max stresses by a lot again. The reason why...

5/7/2025 12:05pm I agree. That sentence is bizarre. I'm weirded out by the implication that choosing a longer or shorter chainstay length would be a compromise, but somehow choosing a 438mm chainstay length isn't a compromise? Every geometry decision you make on a bike represents a compromise. They're all trade-offs. Either that, or Canyon and friends have stumbled upon the Platonic ideal of the form "chainstay length." We're all in the cave over here, but at Canyon they've unshackled and transcended bodily existence to discovered the one true form of bike geometry. So meta of them.

5/7/2025 12:00pm We’re not allowed to call them chainstays anymore . We must refer to them as (part of) the rear centre… or face forum judgement.

5/1/2025 3:49pm or maybe he just likes the low-key vibes of working with neko and has a good support system where he is. playing the long game of success, comfort, familiarity and fun vs short game of some cash but with a team that may not culturally gel or a bike that doesn't work for him right away.
