Fallacy or not, if our domestic manufacturing capacity is contingent on wreaking havoc in the Middle East and the global south then I want nothing to do with it. Based on the tidbits shared above, it sounds like our domestic production capacity only exists because the ruling class can’t afford to outsource defense manufacturing without the risk of it being used against them (see Westmag drones) but they’re happy to sell us out for everything else. They're starting a company and building a factory to get to 30 million electric motors per year by 2030? Per year? 30 million? Is this a joke? Should that be billion? I work for a moderately small automotive supplier in freaking Slovenia and we probably make more than a million electric motors from our designs, by components, in a year. It’s been a real hoot helping to build out this trail system over the last few years. The vision of the New River Landtrust transformed natural gas pipeline settlement money into hundreds of acres of permanently conserved land, with more than a dozen miles of new trail with more coming in the fall.

I agree with the others that that many lift days and you can justify a 'park' bike of some kind but- I'd keep the Megatower as your park rig and maybe look at a lighter trail bike for your pedal rides. Only reason is- most of those parks have 1 or 2 good DH bike trails- the rest are kinda flat and boring on a full DH bike. Also nice to have the dropper post, big cassette and waterbottle for some of the side country stuff you can access at Snowmass.

Jeff's right on the financing side. This is far from the initial foray into it. You were able to get Trek Card financing for like 15 years ago, notwithstanding that it's now been phased out for Klarna or whatever. Wide-scale rollout is another question.

Growing wealth inequality incentivizes selling a handful of high margin bougie builds instead of high volume low margin budget rippers. Looking at all the 15k USD Avinox bikes makes we wonder if we’re closer to that future than we realize. The person that pays 15k for a bicycle is probably the sort of person who won’t mind spending 16k in 2 years just to have the newer thing.
