We have the third generation of pros on our hand and the beginning of the third stage of racing- the re-professionalization. My Friday evening pre-Windham spiel exists here. There is nothing surprising going on, but it is exciting to watch.

Did you know that Johnny ran the exact same geometry and fit numbers on his FRO with drop bars all of the way to his Tomac Buckshot? Know what's even better than that? The numbers were off of his team Merckx team bike from his Motorola road team days. That picture is from the XC race at Mt. Snow in '89, fwiw.

The janitors closet here at Spooky has some cool shit. The M1 and the Sworks both got ridden really hard this year and I do plenty of dicking around on both of the Metalheads too... The M1 and the Metalhead are the two hottest bikes of all time, hands down. I need to find the Millennium and Xvert that...

Jared, I agree with all of your points for the most part but I need to point out one slight error. DS was never a World Cup or World Championship discipline. Dual was. Eurosport wasn't interested in DS. Too much time for the half hour to hour they had allocated for the live broadcast. Hard to understand when channel surfing...

Just like the Eastern Europeans are sick of hearing about the death of 4x, North Americans are just plain old sick of hearing about 4x at all. We also don't engage in cycleball and artistic cycling. It's your sport now. Have fun!

I have never lost a gate in an amateur 4x race. I'd rather get eliminated in the 2nd round of a DS race than make the finals in a 4x race. Why? Because dual slalom fucking rules. DS is competitive in every single round by every rider. DS focuses more on cornering than anything else. Slaying corners is cooler than...

Beech MT- The end of the yellow brick road. Really. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utyP6QqfeHI There is an abandoned wizard of OZ themed amusement park at the top of the mountain. AND the paved road down the mountain is going to be gnarly as fuck on 2.5 hookworms. Something like 11 gnarly switchbacks and 2+ miles of paved chunder. The betting pool for the road race starts now. That sucks to hear that there might be a 4x race though. I was really hoping that that stupid fucking sport was finally going to die, especially since it's killing gravity racing in America. I suggest...

USAC funding goes solely to road, track, xc and bmx. The long and short of it is that all Olympic affiliated governing bodies in the US can only use their cash to support Olympic disciplines. There is no revenue stream available for USAC to fund anything regarding gravity racing. They literally can NOT spend development money of gravity. The very...
This debate is going to go on for years and drive me fucking crazy, because I am right. DH is mountainbiking. Mountainbike racing as we know it came directly from roadies who got high and pushed shitty beachcrusiers to the top of hills. They wore protective clothing with pockets to hold their drugs and protect their skin. When they got...
