Dak lives in South Knoxville, so he lives a solid 2 hours closer to Windrock than Neko, who lives over in NC 15 minutes from the Shaw’s and Grice.

We had a proper day on track today. Can’t wait for Snowshoe 2021. America loaded up their vans en masse yesterday morning and made the trip. The noise in the key spectator zones was literally disorienting.

I will be editing up a slalom bike check gallery on Monday. Spending too much time on the mic- but the vibe here at Trestle is dynamite. We go live in the mic in 10 min in preparation for pro dh qualies- the track is HARD and the air is THIN.

DH racing is better than ever- and statistically US downhill racers are better than ever, there are just less of them. DH is just harder than it has ever been, and it costs twice as much as it did 15-20 years ago, when day-job wages were essentially the same as they are now, but far, far more young people had decent jobs, way less college debt and affordable health insurance.
