2/27/2026 11:13pm Less I bet, Dario is actually trying to be core instead of just cosplaying it with Carhartt so now you get the occasional copy past from vital.

2/27/2026 11:11pm I've had more issues with a stumpjumper and an enduro than I have any of my forbidden bikes. 🤷♂️ I have only had their v2 versions though, no idea what the v1's were like.

2/27/2026 11:05pm I'd think that if they released one or two more generations of duds, they'll find themselves losing a bunch of market share. Their target demographic won't stay ignorant forever.

2/27/2026 11:05pm 1) they see themselves as a technology/consumer electronics company now. When they brought in a Dyson guy to the c-level I knew we were going to see a different speci. 2) they’re way more conservative. Sinyard is older, economic pressures intensified, and the types of people who work there are dramatically different than 10 years ago. This is all mostly for the better but eventually you start to feel a lack of life from the bikes. I used to really want speci to become a more relevant and saavy company, but now that they are I realized how much funky...

2/27/2026 11:01pm This is a great point. The Transmission derailleur is what doomed adjustable chainstays on so many single crown bikes, including my beloved SCB Megatower. I'm sure SCB and many others will either ditch adjustable stays on their DH bikes or go with a full modular dropout configuration like Banshee or Forbidden.

2/26/2026 7:02am Basically what I’m getting here is I definitely don’t want the ability to run one specific derailer to be a factor how somebody designs a downhill bike. That’s why Dane bikes are so awesome or they have the least amount of design constraints and now they just put a huge one on them again.

2/25/2026 12:29pm Seeing as SRAM has not released a derailer that doesn’t have that direct amount. I wonder how that’s going to affect downhill bike frame design because most downhill bikes have adjustable chain, stay with a flip chip so bikes like the V10 I would say the most sought after downhill don’t have the ability to run the new downhill transmission...

2/24/2026 9:35pm Bosch Gen 4. 200km? System turns off randomly after 10 minutes every time I think I've solved the issue. I'm assuming it's a faulty overheating sensor but I've had 3 Bosch techs plug in and say nothing is wrong. Haven't been able to get a warranty so It's been a nice tease for the last two years in my garage.

2/24/2026 9:26pm It might be because that’s one of the very few downhill bikes that doesn’t have an adjustable chain stay that uses an axle flip chip
