5/6/2026 12:46pm Large Geo looks absolutely perfect for somebody. Who’s 6 feet tall again this isn’t for somebody who wants to ride blue flow trails. It’s a purpose build jump bike so the shorter reach in short change stays are probably perfect one in the air.

5/4/2026 9:30pm I would hesitate to call the XD driver good, it works just fine and allowed for the 10 tooth cog but in all honesty, my experience with microspline has been far better. Feels more secure, and I like having the engagement along nearly the entire cassette rather than just at the end, and not having the cassette have to be completely one piece or riveted together is not a problem. Sram has killed it in bringing new product to market quickly, in being the one stop shop for OEM, and their marketing is definitely working, but I won't say that...

5/1/2026 1:18pm I'm not going to cast too much shade on Hardtail Bro. I will, however, cast plenty on the mixed messaging and policies of WBD/UCI. Their implied goal has been to raise the professionalism and elite nature of the sport. Simultaneously, they've allowed a racer to use a hardtail to compete. This is inconsistent with the way they're supposedly pushing the sport. I also will cast a little shade on our community. We've bemoaned the loss of grassroots accessibility to the World Cups while also bashing hardtail dude, who represents just such grassroots privateerism. Dude managed to navigate the red tape...

5/1/2026 1:16pm I think one of the largest "We're not in Kansas anymore" moments I had when I began working for a component manufacturer after years in bikes shops was when I had the insignificance of aftermarket sales explained to me. Don't get me wrong, every brand worth their salt is going to support aftermarket product bc why leave money on the table, but OE sales are king in the bike industry and ultimately OE sales drives every design decision. SRAM gets to push the convenience of full SRAM spec by limiting cross compatibility. For brands like Canyon, Specialized, etc., who are...

4/29/2026 9:45am Hmm. Do I get to decide when it’s a sustained steep or recovery is necessary? Cuz I spent like an hour yesterday desperately clicking my gravel bike’s shifter in search of an even lower gear. I’m old, been drinking too much beer and eating Trader Joe’s peanut butter cups, and now I gotta deal with the knowledge that I have suboptimal gearing? Eff it

4/29/2026 9:45am You ideally want to be biasing your climbing for 2nd and 3rd gear because you get a better chain-line ( especially if you have SRAM Transmission on a non-Super Boost bike since that uses a 55mm chain-line which creates awful angles, Super Boost helps bring that back more in line which is why I mention it) and on most modern 12 speed cassettes the 1st gear is aluminum while 2+ is steel. So if you're spending most of your time in 1 then you should consider swallowing your pride and moving down a chain ring size unless you have a...

4/21/2026 9:18pm It would be really cool if they kept selling the current aluminum demo with a poverty spec for people that don’t want to refinance their house. For what it’s worth that bike seemed universally liked.

4/21/2026 6:57am To be fair, the last demo had a ridiculous amount of bearings in it, but I managed to ride one for two seasons and never needed to maintain it at all. Hopefully, this bike will be the same level of quality.
