As somebody else just said, thankfully, it’s not that because when DVO had their OTT, which if you were the correct rate was pretty awesome actually, it made a ton of noise and you would break it quite often if you needed to change any settings on it(I always had to run it at the max sensitivity). Otherwise it would...

It's not, thankfully, Blister has a photo of it on their review below. It looks like it's a short spring (5mm) that preloads the piston to get it moving https://blisterreview.com/gear-reviews/manitou-mezzer-mezzer-lt-gen-2

I am not seeing how the last 4 pages of this thread have anything to do with rumors or innovation.

Sir, I believe your bike has a cascade link.. so wouldn’t that mean you’re the one that called?

Favorite thing is he’s always claiming no hype, but then everything he does is hyping up his own products without anything backing that they’re better. I’ve ridden a banshee with his link in shock and then one that was stuck, and there was not a massive difference and I thought the one with what I like.

Of all the reviews I have seen online, nobody is complaining about the progression or bottoming out all the time. And if JKW didn't immediately fill it with volume spacers, then I think there is some overreaction here.

You have to remember the true target market of this bike....if you really need that much extra resistance then a Tallboy is the wrong bike for you, full stop. The forum guys wanting to run a coil shock are a niche of a niche type of mountain biker so they aren't going to design the bike with that in mind. I also don't think its that far off, and they maybe chose to ship it with that shock spec so people can easily remove the spacers if that need to. And plenty of people have run coil shocks in bikes...

Frame kinematics that require stuffing air cans full of volume spacers and are a big no-go for coil shocks? Hmmm, I feel like we have been here before.

That sounds an awful lot like they actually didn't get the leverage curve they wanted. Nothing wrong with designing a frame to work with the natural progressivity of an air shock, but if you use all the volume spacers in the air shock you spec stock, you probably would be better served with a more progressive leverage curve.

mr Dave Weagle himself responded to a comment I left about the RMU Nighttrain, stating that the rear center does legitimately grow 30mm to 457.5mm at sag. I still don't believe it, especially because he's claiming it's "poppy and playful" but my range grows almost 30mm bottomed out and is not "poppy and playful".

Well, I guess I’d love to ride the new Tallboy and then decide, how the move to a new system tastes. The best feature imho of the VPP with a solid rear triangle was that all bearings were located in the rocker. Changing them was a breeze and there was no risk of damaging the carbon frame in the process. I tend to ride my bikes as long as possible, since they became so great. (swapped annually when I used to work in a bike shop, industry deals etc, and geometry was still shitty and new bikes sometimes brought revelatory...
