10/24/2025 10:07pm I'll add to the dumpster fire: In 2022 a friend of mine broke his super boost rear wheel just days before our bike trip to Moab. He was unable to find any replacement in a big city like Toronto. Not even the shops in Moab had one. After much research. he managed to find a bike shop several hours out of the way from Moab that had one collecting dust. If this was a "normal" 148 wheel then he could've used any one of our spare wheels. It's just silly. Also never heard of renting wheels in North America.

10/24/2025 10:05pm I thought it was very brave of Ebruner to be vulnerable and share how many bikes he and his wife have. It can be tough to come clean. We’re all active or recovering bikes addicts here, and this is supposed to be a supportive community for recovery. Or enabling rationalizations and fostering codependency, if that’s what you’re looking for. Both, really. JUDGEMENT FREE SPACE

10/24/2025 10:03pm Well the bad news is that I don't know what to tell you, and the good news is that I have nothing to prove, nor nothing to gain for convincing you. I have a lot of mountain bikes and so does my wife, 6 between us. Everyone of our bikes has sram brakes with metallic pads, 200mm hs2 rotors and the same sram drivetrains and sram dt350 hubs on every wheelset save one. There are two extra floater wheelsets between all of the bikes. I think it may actually be more important for me to be on the right tires...

10/24/2025 9:57pm They didn't dimension the other lip... it could be 6.5 mm wide. But not making dumb machine shop assumptions, it's approximately 36.5 mm wide on account of that 3.5 mm dimension actually being at a slight angle. I took the profile and traced it on my computer really quick. Going off the 30 mm dimension being correct, all the other dimensions are quite close to their callout. That's some next level rounding or just straight up making it up.

10/24/2025 9:52pm It's a refreshing change when they let the person on the marketing team who actually understands mountain biking handle the mountain bike aspect of a "lifestyle" vehicle ad. And likely in this case they don't just understand it; they're deep in the weeds. Who outside of the sport has heard of Frameworks? Edit: because the presentation of the photo on Instagram offended me so much:

10/24/2025 9:51pm There are enough rich people who buy top of the line, never ride it, then sell it on marketplace. Pros ride hard, put it away wet, and rely on their professional mechanics/frame sponsors when they break shit. They don't worry about keeping their bike in decent condition.

10/24/2025 9:51pm Quoting my own post to showcase that Frameworks is getting outside industry exposure with a custom bike as part of Toyota’s display at SEMA. That’s got to be worth something, and shows that the partnerships they are making beyond traditional cycling brands are worthwhile. Hopefully it adds to their bottom line and allows them to either bring on established talent or provide more for developing juniors. https://www.instagram.com/p/DQJ8JpMEZCz/?igsh=MTRiMzUyYzZ0bnh2eA==

10/22/2025 1:50pm Just doing my part of adding to the rumors 🍿 Dak won’t tell me anything for the record. But I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about that brand that also makes goggles as a potential team. They’ve got two spots that I know of open going into next year I’d love to see him on Frameworks, just feels right. We swapped bikes in Whistler this summer for half a lap when I was riding the Frameworks, and there were a lot of similarities geo wise between the bikes–tall stack, long rear end, short axle to crown. Also minimal spring rate...

10/22/2025 1:36pm I don't even like playing the "Who has a 148 rear wheel I can borrow [with my preferred freehub interface and/or a cassette of similar size and # of speeds that's compatible with my chain]?" game. I don't think I would like the 157mm SuperBoost version of that game.

10/22/2025 1:30pm Actually, Yeti is interesting. With Camille retiring. They surely have some budget. Assuming they'll wanna keep Tyler Waite if possible. But they'll want another elite male or female to replace Cam surely?

10/22/2025 1:27pm My hunch is that to fund Dak's 2026 on Frameworks racing, you'd have to crowdfund at least $250,000 to cover his salary, mechanics salary, travel, food and accom for both plus extras. Big question rumor wise though, are Frameworks looking to expand? More American talent, a junior to replace Asa? Another elite male?

TEAMROBOT Liked a comment about Feature MRP Lift Damper Long-Term Review
10/22/2025 1:55am FWIW, when I talked with Steve at Vorsprung about testing a Smashpot (I have one on test right now), he was excited to hear that I'd be pairing it with a Lift. The best and worst part about a coil spring is how active and frictionless it is compared to an air spring, and Steve said the stock Charger 3.1 damper provides less support than he'd like to see for a Smashpot coil conversion. In contrast, air springs inherently have more friction in them, which is just another form of damping. I'm excited to have more detailed thoughts to share...

10/22/2025 1:53am Steep trails, ebikes, and the Lift are a trio I'm missing very badly at the moment. I had a couple unreal days in Santa Cruz this spring before Sea Otter, like top-10 days of my life good. You're squarely in the yellow tune range, so I'd definitely go with that. At your weight, you'd also probably really enjoy a Noken in your Zeb to make it little more coil-like. That (and a little more pressure) will really help your dynamic ride height.
