Little bit of an aside, but I'm doing some homework on the players in Taiwan, China and Vietnam responsible for most of the "big guys" bikes (frames, primarily). I have a few sources that are helping, but if anyone in this thread has anything to offer - jeff.brines@gmail.com I think it'd be really cool to shine a light on who is making what for who, even if it doesn't mean much on the surface. I have the alloy frame built up with xo transmission ext era fork 150mm and Storia coil, king hubs carbon rims, codes with 200mm rotors, dd/dh casing tires no inserts S3 and it’s a touch over 36lbs. With a tool and water bottle be about 38lbs riding. I don’t notice the weight. It’s a well balanced bike. The weight debate...

They really should stop this berm building chicanery. That EDR with Ed Masters & crew hitting those off cambers with INSANE talent & skill was amazing to watch!!! Bike parking is getting so sucky. And wet weather turns every dozer bowl into garbage.

I’d argue that might’ve worked effectively the first dozen times the bike industry did it, but not anymore. Unless what you’re hiding is truly unique, it actually does the opposite. People either see through it as a gimmick immediately, or are disappointed when the cover comes off and what is underneath is generic copied homework thus having the opposite effect just when the bike is actually about to go on sale.

But it's modular now, you only have to replace the broken part not the whole derailleur. (Pay no attention to the fact that the individual replaceable parts are more expensive than an entire derailleur.)

Finally! A proper electronic DH rear derailleur. I've been wondering when we'd be able to pay $1500 to ruin three derailleurs on the same rock in one race weekend. Can't come fast enough.

1199 ends at the timing flats. This gives space for a coral and seating. The bottom at creekside gondola wouldn’t be large enough to have a finish area. It’s congested with Dusty’s patio, and the surrounding condos.

It was news to me, so maybe it will be news to others, but there are two Canadian Open DH races this year at Crankworx. The first is happening this weekend (qualifying today, race tomorrow) and it's called the 'OG Canadian Open.' It follows mostly the same path as the classic course that was raced for years. The second is the 'RockShox Canadian Open' happening next Friday on the 1199 track. Rain two days ago has made for some epic conditions and they tuned up the OG track a good amount. Looks all-time -

@sspomer any chance you can do a survey? Find out who is watching and if so if they are paying? Would be interesting to see how vital forum nerds are getting their wcdh. Would also be interesting g to see their breakdown of dh vs xc viewers.

You mess up in seeding you start where you start. Own it. You are going to have to deal with slower riders on course. Better luck next year. Does matter if you are AG or some never was has been local. Life ain't always stacked in favour.
