Such an amazing piece of history. Crazy respect for JMC and everyone from that era for how fast they were going on these old things. Also didn't realize "Cannibal" was a preexisting name in the Specialized tire lineup prior to 2022.

I don’t ride my retro restorations, too valuable to take down a dh track. But to sit on it feels great, no issue with 0 deg mounted stem.

When I first moved to Whistler in '00, I met Shandro and Simmons when they came into Glacier Shop where I worked at the bottom of Fitz chair. I was pretty stoked as a 20 year old fanboy. I asked Wade one day, "Hey, how rad is it that you got to have a pro model bike with your name on it? That's like snowboarding level cool." And he was pretty 'meh' about it! I then watched him flat a new DH tube on the install. I grabbed another and did it for him. He said he'd get me some...
