My 1st MTB was a brand new 1987 GT Avalanche Elite (the bike I'm on in my profile pic) that cost me $680 and I had to finance most of it at over 10% interest as a dumb 18yr old dude. I loved that bike and just recently donated it to a good home. GT will always have a special place in my heart and I hope they can return at some point in time.

You know how rich dorks move into the cool neighborhood and then start complaining about the nightclub’s noise and the neighborhood starts sucking and becomes lame and they’re all looking around like what? That’s what this feels like. Union embodied the passion that truly drives the sport. Their whole thing was to help, not to earn. Pricing them out is not better for anyone.

After we published our Enduro Fork Test Sessions , DVO notified us that the setup guide on the landing page of the Onyx D1 38 was incorrect. It's been updated since, but what we referenced during the test recommended too much compression damping and incorrect air pressure. It also said there were 28-clicks of HSC instead of the actual 38-clicks, causing confusion. Since I still had the fork in my possession post-test, I wanted to revisit the Onyx. I agree that it’s definitely not ideal and the points structure is wack, but it might be a positive for events like this. Having top pros show up at these regional-level events could be great for them.

Why am I sharing this, and why might another rider want to read this? I'm a (modestly) credentialed, (modestly) working scientist with no present affiliation to the any part of the bike industry. Teaching quantitative reasoning and technical communication skills is the lion's share of what I do for work. I'm not a 'sci-comm' professional trying to drive attention toward a podcast about bikes or a bike youtuber trying to grab attention by deploying keywords like data or science. I don't have a vested interest in either bike setup being faster than the other. So let this be my attempt...

BC to Scott Martin Maes and Orbea to FMD Matt Walker to Cube both WIlsons to Gamux with outside sponsors Eliana Hulsebosch to Syndicate Anna N somewhat confirmed to Frameworks (LET'S GO!) - Confirmed podium contender woman to Frameworks, and they didn't dispute the Anna Newkirk claim.
