Gotta love people who write an essay about wireless shifting who then tell everyone else to stop talking about wireless shifting.

I'm prefacing this with a disclaimer that I've not used transmission; but does the mech not put a slight side load on the chain, and when it detects a change in side pressure due to a shift ramp coming around the cassette it then completes the shift? This would allow it to "sense" where the shift ramps without a specific...

Geometry was under the bike designer's total control though. With the benefit of hindsight, it turns out Chris Porter was right all along and almost everyone else had to be led by the nose to where we are today.

Chainstay length is BB to rear axle distance, direct. Rear centre is the horizontal distance between the BB and rear axle. The projection of BB on the ground to the tyre contact patch if you will (and same for front centre). This is affected by the dynamic sag both front and rear as it is affected by the inclination of the bike frame. Chainstay length (the changes of it) affects pedaling performance (antisquat and kickback), rear centre length affects front rear balance. Though technically for that the axle to centre of gravity distance would make more sense than the distance...

the use of "roughest paths" tells you the intended market. It's like the chef kiss of the entire marketing campaign.

To be fair, the forks are bottomed out too... Its not that different to how other bikes look in the numerous bottom out galleries vital bas done over the years. ...but yeah. Trying to figure if the rear "triangle" is just a triangle in order for brake/shift routing.

By this logic, we'd be on bikes with wheelbases of 1000mm. But we're not, we're pushing 1300mm in a lot of bikes, and they still go round corners just fine on trails we were riding 20+ years ago.
