11/26/2025 9:18am @Downtime Podcast Been busy and have sporadically been able to follow the thread. I haven’t listened to the DT podcast. Haven’t listened to Brines debrief. But I do know this. MF asked/paid Chris to provide a platform. Chris did that. Jumping on Chris for not asking the right questions is crap. MF was on the back foot from the company crisis. Chris didn’t put him there. MF had every opportunity to at least clear the air and admit wrongdoing. At any point during the pod MF could have said “Let me say this about that”. MF had an open mic...

11/26/2025 6:57am Sorry, just realized that the contents of that website are, in fact, not available in English. Now I'm sitting here, having a little laugh thinking about how jarring and discordant that word must sound to anyone who's not used to German pronounciation. English: effective top tube length 😊 German: OBERROHR 😬😠

11/25/2025 4:42pm Honestly equally secret to Oberrohr for everyone too lazy to use a translator app, myself included.

11/25/2025 12:33pm Thanks for the math award. I don’t even practice so it’s double nice. We are also very handsome here on the messageboards. That bike is super dumb looking.

11/25/2025 12:32pm One thing that became almost immediately clear in the relatively short time that I have been reading and participating in bike-related internet forums is that the proportion of posters that are good at math is extremely high. It seems that 1 in 10 is an actual engineer, and the proportion of math-brained folks among the remainder is way higher than the public at large. As such, holding back geometry information strikes me as misguided because one's efforts are destined to be futile unless they also refuse to release pictures of the product. From the moment the bike is portrayed in...

11/25/2025 11:07am Here we go, it had to happen sooner or later... The first ever production full-suspension carbon XC-Bike with 32" wheels. Read more about it here: https://www.stoll-bikes.com/p32 Geometry table is at the very bottom of the page. Though it seems like Stoll won't tell you the full geometry data unless you're ordering a bike. They've got sizes "Medium" and "Large", although people have done the math for the missing geometry numbers and both sizes are very big. The size recommendations seem a little strange, to say the least.

11/25/2025 11:00am This is a classic derailment. I don't think anyone expected Chris to grill Markus like it's a cross examination and no one expected Markus to do anything but represent himself in the best possible way to position his new company to re-start. At best, it is a bit of new information from one side... At worst it's a nothing burger. I hope Brines has contacted a certain someone in an effort to get the other side of the story. Because at this point that's the only thing that would make this narrative compelling. We never quite got a bullet points...

11/25/2025 10:59am Just got caught up on the forum tea. Amazing that Chris came here to comment. Thank you Chris! Big fan. Agree 100% with what you said, Jeff. Sounds like Chris approached this podcast with the same approach he brings to every podcast. In Chris’s defense, what you see is what you get. If you’re a regular listener, you know what to expect from his interviews. He gives everyone a platform and doesn’t put anyone on blast. For many of us, that standard approach feels like a mismatch for this particular situation because Markus does not appear to be a trustworthy...

11/25/2025 10:59am I thought it was brilliant. Chris touched on all of the issues - team not getting paid, YT usa, paying customers with no bikes - and Flossman was free to respond naturally. Instead of diluting or improving my perception of tribulations at YT, I found the conversation really reinforced Flossman's now infamous character- zero accountability, empathy or remorse for the customers and staff involved, and constantly focused on the implications to the brand (not people) and damage limitation measures. If this was a parole hearing he'd be miles from getting his sentence commuted. I don't think this was good publicity...

11/25/2025 10:52am On one hand, I shouldn’t give a F about what Markus says. I did my three years at YT, met amazing people, learnt a lot and got paid not too bad. On the other hand, given the number and kinds of situation where Markus showed zero accountability for his own actions and screwed up both customers and employees that I personally witnessed, I really wish for other people’s voices to be heard at least to the same extent as it was with the Downtine podcast. I am not the one to talk out loud since my role was not that...

11/25/2025 11:07am What the hell is wrong with these companies? Both Stoll and DirtySixer think they can sell bikes without telling people the geometry. Is this just some kind of rug pull because they don't know what they're doing, and until Trek or Specialized or whoever comes out with a sorted 32inch bike they can trick people into being early adopters with...

11/25/2025 10:28am Spect 5 to 10 years until geometry became sorted. It's the race to be the first to sell that new thing, prototyping is on the hands of the early adopter

11/25/2025 10:25am Markus coming across as that POS who is bashing his wife and says something like "look at what you made me do, you made me do this" kind of vibes everyone else's fault but his.

11/25/2025 10:25am No shade on Downtime, but let’s see this for what it is… a friendly interview with someone who was paid (travel only as he disclosed) to do it.
