The Fluid is, in my opinion, a bike that was almost completely ignored by consumers when it really shouldn't have been. I reviewed it for another site and it blew me away, and indeed others who rode it. A former colleague and I still regard it as one of the best trail bikes we've ever ridden. So much fun to ride. I wanted to try something else so didn't end up buying one (ironic given my point I guess!) but it is genuinely a brilliant, brilliant bike. Perhaps the carbon one was a little expensive, but damn, from a ride...

No, not really. Other than the carbon fluid.... experiment? (it's discontinued after 2 seasons), the Fluid is clearly positioned to be an affordable trail bike in Norco's lineup. Yes, you can see some top specs for great prices, but the savings have to come from somewhere and that's clearly the frames: through a combination of manufacturing techniques and materials, they're...

I'd be willing to put money down that Norco comes out with something between the new Revolver and current Sight that: 1. is closer in spirit to the Revolver than the Sight 2. abandons the 'Optic' moniker. If they do, it'll be a great option. I appreciate the comment on mental ability and pedalling high pivot bikes. Personally, I think...

I think I am too weak mentally to pedal a high pivot bike on 6-7k elevation gain days. I can admit that the idler doesn't provide more then 1-2% drag... and with my roller coaster fitness levels, it won't make/break my ability to finish a ride with 5k+ However, mentally, I'm going to be over thinking it and my obsession with a properly lubricated chain with no noise will really mess with me. I did get a few rides on a druid however... and I will admit it was the best 130mm bike I have ever ridden. Hrmmmm... The previous...

I miss when people used to draw silly little drawings of things. They were fun and whimsical and now its like "oh, a computer made that with no effort" and it takes the fun out of the photos.

based on my experience, there's also a need for signs stating "we won't work on bikes you found in the trash"

The 8 year clause might have made sense 10 years ago. These days, going forward, it makes no sense.

Just a heads up, Fox Factory and GoPro both report results tonight. I'll do my best to aggregate results, listen to conference calls (at least with Fox) and put a little post together. Cheers!

Something that holds our industry back is that we think that bike skills = bike design skills. They don’t. It helps to have bike skills and experience to inform bike design, but we have some amazing riders designing some absolute turds. Once we accept some of the mediocre riders might actually have deep insights into bike design we will see some huge improvements overall.
