12/3/2025 3:07pm The decision to lock the other thread has spawned a successor which we will quickly grow to dozens if not hundreds of pages in addition to a slew of low-quality posts (I am not innocent here, admittedly) on both the old thread and the new one. Ironically, this has taxed forum resources even more.

12/3/2025 1:45pm I bought a Deviate because they were the only brand other than Santa Cruz who would honour a warranty if a bike was painted aftermarket by a competent person. So much for that. I recall Deviate was looking for private investors via a sort of crowdfunding model... last year? Hope not too many are losing their shirt.

New thread each year like the race thread. Pin it to the top section. Jan 1 each year force the start of the new thread and un-pin the old thread. Seems simple. Kinda scratching my head how one thread with 1000 pages is more resources than 10 threads with 100 pages. Content is content and traffic is traffic is it not?

Here's another story of bike industry woes for those who want to read about something new today - CPSC has issued a "Stop Using Batteries in Certain Rad Power E-Bikes Due to Fire Hazard" warning to consumers. The batteries "pose a risk of serious injury and death," the agency says, after 31 reports of fires.
