Thanks for getting back to me! The honest answer? The colour. She doesn't want to drop £2750 on a boring grey. I've explained that you don't notice what colour your bike is when riding it, but just threw the 29in in a 650b frame idea out there just incase.

Inits debut, the Santa Cruz Hightower developed a bit of a reputation for being a “dad bike.” It was a pretty good all-rounder that just seemed to lack a certain amount of excitement surrounding its geometry and capability. Fast forward to now… dad grows a beard, gets some neck tats and starts running drugs for the cartel. Santa Cruz made sure dad’s bike is getting all the high-speed rowdiness he needs for his fresh persona with the newly updated Hightower. Strengths Weaknesses Gets up on command and hangs tough in the rough Impressive climbing efficiency Planted and composed Added reach...

First things first, follow @speed.police, they are the real authority on this subject. I have seen a ton of clips on instagram recently which I believe are sped up. I'm not gonna come out and point fingers and claim I know for a fact that x or y is sped up, because honestly I don't know or have any sort of proof. I just have a suspicion and it got me thinking that there is little discussion about speed-manipulated footage in MTB. There's plenty of space online for a) people with ridiculous bike skills and b) people who are charismatic...

Rconroy Liked a product review Sentinel - Short Test Ride

NOTE: This is not a Vital Review, I am simply following the format, as I think it is well structured, and would like to use it to allow a common read of a review. So a few weeks back Transition released a video detailing their new SBG geometry, (seen HERE) where they described how lengthening the top tubes, and increasing seat-tube angle can improve rider. But the thing that really peaked my interested was the last item integral to SBG, the reduction of fork offset from 56mm to a 44mm offset. As described in the video, this is suppose to...

"Business in front, party in the back!" The UCI reversed its policy of banning mixed wheelsizes late last year for DH and Enduro. Within weeks, several teams experimented pairing a 29" front wheel with a 27.5" rear wheel, notably, Specialized, GT, and Polygon. Neko Mullaly tested a reverse mullet build on his Tues, 2 years after trying it out on his old Gambler "Frankenbike". In recent times, there have been a few intrepid manufacturers who actually designed and released 97.5 gravity bikes, like Foes and Liteville. Reviews were generally positive but no discernible data has been released comparing it to...

The title of recent Maxim article reads, "Harley-Davidson Unleashes 2 New Electric Mountain Bike Concepts". I had to click because the obviously electric motorcycle in the thumbnail was called a "mountain bike" by a major media outlet. As I read the article I found the following lines: "To go along with Harley-Davidson's first-ever electric motorcycle, the Milwaukee-based chopper brand has created a striking pair of electric bike concepts for CES. We're talking pedal-less bicycles. The first has knobby tires and an inverted fork suspension presumably designed for trail riding." Now, if you're a motorcycle fan with no idea...

I’d be very interested to see what could come of a mixed wheel size bike. 29 front and 27.5 rear, in case it wasn’t obvious.

Last fall we flogged Kona’s updated Process G2 and had a blast doing it. The update improved every single trait of the bike, but many folks were left wondering, “Where’s the wagon wheeler?” Kona hinted at the fact that a 29-inch Process 153 was in the works. Shortly after the release of the Process G2, aluminum versions of the Process 153 29 started to surface. On paper, the 29-inch version of the Process shares just about every trait with its smaller sibling, and we were excited to see if the Process 153 CR/DL 29 retained the qualities we liked about...

bturman Liked a comment about Feature Transition Patrol vs. Patrol - See How the 2018 Compares

Cheers, jvanny! As far as I'm aware, the only difference between 2018 and 2019 is to the shock tune. Transition is now including a larger 0.6 cubic inch volume spacer (versus 0.4) and has made some damping updates as well. They also have a carbon version.

Super DH here. I like have the option to remove the chin bar for more mellow rides. I am a believer is MIPS as well; especially Spherical MIPS. That being said, I do think there is something to the dedicated full face enduro helmet. The new Leatt looks good, but sounds like it runs hotter than say, the Fox Proframe. Plenty of choices to make that's for sure.

I'm currently running the Super 3R. I'm really enjoying it as a lid for day to day trail rides and as a full face on super hot park days where my D3 is just too much its amazing and i feel confident in it. I've taken a hit to the side with it as well. However, I have friends with the Switch Blade and Super DH. The MIPS in the Super DH is one of the best ive seen and the mouth piece is confidence inspiring. But I do find both the Super's mouth pieces are pretty large and in...
