ebruner Liked a reply to forum topic Oak Levers vs Freedom Coast Levers
8/8/2026 5:49am I have both currently and I prefer the Oak levers. The freedom coast levers have a tighter (sharper) radius where they transition from the face of the lever up and over to the top/bottom and back. It can and does creat hotspots when I'm doing trails that are 1-2 miles and very steep and you're constantly on the brakes. Other then those extreme braking situations, the hot spot issue does not show up. The oak levers however have no such issues, have a more comfortable and eased hook to them and do add some leverage. Basically, the oak levers are...

8/2/2026 11:00am My wife and I were there From the 10th to the 18th for the first time in about 4 years. It was our first trip back since having kids. My hot take was that it's actually a really fun place to take the whole family. Family Stuff: Axis bike camps are sick, they have drop in and weekly options. We took our Toddler who just turned 3 in June and when we picked him up he was riding his pedal bike on his own. He could pedal prior to our trip but needed help starting. He was fully independent on...

7/11/2026 6:45pm I know there’s a difference because it’s harder to control with bikes, but why is it such a big deal here when people unlock their hardware? I can drive a car faster than the speed limit, too. It’s the driver’s responsibility to follow the rules. If they don’t, there are penalties—or they lose their insurance coverage. It’s true, though, that we as humanity are apparently generally unable to exercise restraint at the moment. I think it’s illusory to believe that anyone will regulate themselves. As a personal experience: I still think my Unno with M1 is great. I don’t need...

7/11/2026 6:25pm Cheers for making this thread. I think it’s going to get quite old man shouts at clouds, but there we go. I come at this from a slightly different angle, I’m an elected local councillor. As a result I’ve managed to have meetings with a few of the land owners and managers at my local. It’s a complicated picture, 3 public owners, a few private and 2 main land managers who have different goals and incentives. It’s an intensively used bit of land, 2 million people live within 30km of it in a very nature deprived part of a very...

7/11/2026 6:01pm If Avinox were just delivering on power it would be much easier to snub, but their approach to integration and customization is seamless and their motor outright outperforms everything else. The new Kona with the Bosch CX is really close in weight to the 600Wh Avinox bikes so despite not pursuing a lightweight system they’re not meaningfully behind either.

TEAMROBOT Liked a comment about Feature B.S. Podcast - The Rise of DJI - From Drones to E-Bikes
7/10/2026 4:41pm Thanks for listening! Vital user pamtbr shared a rumor on the first page of the DJI forum thread similar to the same origin story you mentioned above, but Jeff and I have never heard anything to corroborate it and I don't know what pamtbr's source is, so as far as we're concerned it's apocryphal at best: "'I'm curious if anyone knows whether the DJI motor origin story rumor has any merit. As the rumor goes, at some point in time, Mike Sinyard was looking to develop something along the lines of a Surron. They were starting to pop up in...

7/10/2026 1:36pm Wow, great job on this topic. Thanks for weaving this together into a podcast. I’m fascinated by the avinox origin story which goes something like this from what I’ve heard: as they looked to diversify products years ago (probably Covid related) a couple of bike passionate guys in the company suggested e-bikes, after some quick prototyping they shopped around their product to industry players years ago, got a bad reception, and decided to forge ahead on their own. 1. Does this jive with your understanding of their development? I know we’re playing what if’s but can you imagine if say...

4/3/2026 7:44pm haven't read all the replies but I'll put my input in. having broken a total of 6 reserve rims using CC pro i knew there was something up. turns out the pressure from "rim strikes" was transferred directly to the center bead; the thinnest spot of the rim and causing it to break over and over again, i had to buy another wheelset just to use the rims while the broken ones were in warranty process. ditched the rims and the inserts and changed my setup to Zipp/CB rims with newly released (at the time) Conti tires per recommendation of...

2/7/2026 5:42am Seeding results are in! Storming time by Asa, stoked to see Gwin up in fifth, and one has to wonder if Jackson is sandbagging or if he's not feeling it. Remember that unlike the World Cup, seeding carries no points and everybody who completes a top-to-bottom run and takes the start in qualifying gets to race finals at Hardline, so people could well be playing their cards close to the chest. Tune in tomorrow to see how it all plays out!
