I'm on the XXL now with the chainstays in the longer position. I will eventually switch to the shorter position and see how it changes the ride quality, but to be honest, I think the long position could be even longer...

Thanks for the clarification Dylan,
I'd love to see an XXL bike tested, and how it feels compared to an XL.
This being said, the saddle height on the last pictures is not exaggerated. It would lead me to the conclusion that an XL frame is not that short for your height....more

ATTN TALL GUYS!

I actually now have an XXL Tallboy and I plan to update this review with some notes about the size difference. Without writing a book in the comments, it's awesome, and I must say it's really sweet to ride a bike that fits. Stay tuned for some updates.

Another 6’5” rider here.
More XXLs please! You really can’t say how the XXL will ride, from the review of a M or L!

Finally a replacement for reliable, convenient, and universally available J-bend spokes.

FWIW, I came to this realization back when I had my first generation Transition Smuggler with a 160 (gasp) fork on it. That bike was f'ing awesome. It was way too heavy, but it showed me what an XC/trail bike could/should be. To date, that remains one of my favorite...more

The bike tested in this test was an XL. I am also about 1.96m or (6'5") and we originally decided to test the XL because it was the most relevant to the bike that I'm currently on, which is an XL Trek Slash. That would give me the best perspective of someone going from a current XL to a bike with this amount of reach increase in the XL size.

All that said, I really really really want to start testing some XXL bikes. We're going to start seeing a lot more bikes in this size range, and I am finding that there are actually a ton of people in XXL size range that want to know about how a bike with 515+ reach rides. I've been receiving a lot of questions from tall guys everywhere who want to know about the XXL.

Anyway, maybe we'll make it happen.

I’m 196m tall too and was wondering if the size tested in the review is an XXL?

Love this. Really hope other XC bikes follow suit. As I get older, I sign up for a handful of XC/"Ultra XC" events per year. I wouldn't mind adding a 115-130mm bike to the quiver, but I don't want something overly heavy or with lame road bike geo.

Very good review...more

Hello SWAT ))

Interesting, how they managed it? I mean licensing from Spesh for that type of storage..
