Also, if you're looking for some more insight on XL vs. XXL, check out my instagram (@dylan_stucki) for a discussion on the topic. Long story short, XXL is the right bike for me.

I honestly haven't even taken it out of the long chain stay position. The bike works really really well with the longer chain stay, I haven't had any reason to try the short position. I have tried the H vs. L shock position, and same thing here, really no reason in my mind to use the H bb setting. The shock doesn't perform as well, and the L bb setting really lets you push into corners.

I'd imagine it will, but it's unlikely to fit the Z2 or Rhythm forks. Hopefully it's long enough to still use the 150mm and 160mm air shafts.

Did something change about the EVOL air spring, or is it the same?

Definitely bummed to not see air bleeders and a floating axle on this one, but GRIP 2 for the 34 is going to be awesome.

Stoked for the bike help page to go live with 2021 parts lists and drawings... so many unanswered questions.

The question no doubt on everyone's lips: "will my existing 34 Performance/Factory fork (edit: including the longer travel ones) take a GRIP2 damper upgrade?"

The RUNT is a game-changer. Especially on the shorter travel bike. Nothing better than the adjustability of air with coil-like feel. Makes this 130mm fork way more useable and supportive. I've got one on both of my bikes...

I've used a number of different fully tailored frame protection kits, and they're not for me. The vinyl is too thin to actually protect the frame in places that you need, and you spend a ton of extra hours installing it to make sure everything lines up perfectly. I prefer to use the Hijinx 2.0 kit from Upland Stoke because the vinyl is actually thick enough to protect the frame in the places you need protection, there are plenty of extension pieces to fit an XXL frame, and it's relatively quick to install. More time on the trails and less to worry about.

Good video. I think having dialed suspension and a bike that fits properly are the 2 biggest things in a bike riding well. For some reason a lot of people aren’t into the custom tuned suspension thing, never really understood that when people...more

The reduction in arm pump is huge, too, i feel like i have much better brake control at high speed.

5 Stars implies perfection. If you read through the review, I was able to get the rebound dialed in to an acceptable point, but I'm still trying to find more control deeper in the stroke. I also was able to dial in the air spring to a point, however I still think there's more to be desired in the relationship with initial suppleness and mid-stroke support.

I think for the right riders, especially lighter weight riders, this fork could be a really great choice. The rebound circuit would become much more useable, and with the fork being super light, it would help with the maneuverability of the front end.

There is a reason why it's 120mm only, and I think for some of the more capable short travel trail bikes out there, there are better options. As I mentioned in the bottom line, I think this fork is going to fill a very small niche in terms of finding the right bike for the platform. Although it's probably the right choice for top-level XC riders, I still don't think that crowd is ready to make a slight weight sacrifice for a better performing fork. No doubt we'll see World Cup XC riders on this fork this season, but I think it's going to be a slow transition. In 2-3 seasons, I'd be willing to bet the SID Ultimate and other similar forks like the Fox Step Cast 34 will phase out the 32mm stanchion forks.

Noah is right, the tires in this test were legit (as they needed to be for the desert gnar). I still dream of something that is the weight of my Top Fuel but just a hair more capable. Basically, any of these bike's performance at 25-27lbs. Though, to be honest,...more
