MileHighMTB Added a comment about press release Intend Introduces the One Piece Fork

6/2/2025 7:48am
Ridic. Clearly this is a hobby product with <.0001% chance of making it. They should read up on what Trust forks did back in 2018 and know that they won't sell many, if any, of these forks. $3,800 i think is 1x more expensive than what Trust forks was trying to get for their goofy ass forks....they gone now. Just say'n.

MileHighMTB Added a comment about feature First Look: KS Lev Circuit Wireless Dropper

11/24/2023 8:05am
Great that there's options out there now (competition is good). But its still too pricey in my opinon. You're paying a ~60% premium for something that has much lower utility than wireless drivetrain. It is 20% cheaper than SRAM AXS so that's good. Dont get me wrong, I'd love it to justify this purchase and would be willing to give KSLev a chance when they have a generation 2 of this, but I think these wireless droppers are still too expensive for a large majority of MTB'rs to adopt. I love my GX AXS and wont willingly go back to...

MileHighMTB Added a comment about press release Specialized to Add Consumer-Direct Sales on February 1, 2022

Not really surprising given the situation with supply chain and the distibution channel getting distrupted by acquisitions in the last 12 months. You have to meet the customer where they're at and its just another purchasing option. Approved! haha.

They're reprioritizing. They don't have the scale that companies like Specialized, Trek, Santa Cruz, Canyon and the private equity guys are looking to ramp up return on investment. That comes from focusing on manufacturing, R&D and sellling bikes. Spending gobs of money on racers just doesn't have a return like PE guys want. FTR - Private Equity is differen than venture capitalists. PE invests in companies that need investment in order to grow and they typically bring their heavy hitters in to ramp the operations of the company up. Venture capitalists typically invest in start ups and take a larger...

I think its a moot question because its about market demand. These companies have smart people that understand which builds will sell and which wont, and then build the bikes accordingly. Specialized wont build out 5000 Turbo Leveo Founders Edition bikes because they know they wont sell that many. They have their metrics dialed to know how many of which frame builds they will selll and they supply the market. Can this be an expensive hobby? Sure. But if you're smart about how you buy and remain patient, the expensive items you were looking at in march, will invaribably be...
