I'd absolutely install this new style of bushing on my V2 posts at their next service, so I echo that's it be a nice update. However, the rate of wear was exponentially worse on my v3 post. I'd label it a comprise or something you can live with on a V2, but a clear warranty issue on a V3. Understood the issue to be something about the material the V3 bushing once it went into mass production for the first batch of consumer posts.

Given the brass ring is the height of what is removed from the updated igus bushing on v3.1 I don't see why it wouldn't work to do a hack on the V2. It's a matter of price and perhaps buying a V3.1 rebuild kit for a V2 dropper just to get a brass ring might be overkill. Maybe something can be sourced another way and then just remove an equal amount from the V2 upper bushing and then slide a brass ring in under it. I believe the hardness of the brass ring compared to an igus bushing is what...

Overfilling a brake is a bad idea. If/when the fluid heats up and starts expanding, it will run out of space in the reservoir. With no place to go, it starts to pump out the caliper pistons, engaging the brake making it a closed circuit. It heats up more, expands more, engages the brake more until something gives. That could be a boil over, where the fluid gasses out and all braking is lost or it could find the weakest seal and start leaking. Most folx I've heard who overfill their brake are looking for quicker engagement. If that's the...

Anyone else notice this little nugget from the latest eeb motor press release - "Another key feature is Extended Boost. When you give the pedals a quick punch or ratchet action, the motor continues to push the bike forward for a brief moment after the pedals stop turning." At what point do the pedals simply become a foot throttle for...

This is great for the yougoobers - they can sell the free review ebikes as additional income to supplement ad revenue, sticker sales, and day jobs.

Because that would imply that motorized mountain bikes are a separate activity from human-powered mountain bikes, while the MTB brands are doing everything in their power to persuade consumers of the opposite. In most US states, the bike lobby convinced legislatures to regulate e-bikes as "non-motorized" transportation. The mountain bike industry has effectively won the battle with the motorsports industry...

Jeff Brines- I've never not been able to find a part that I need during Covid, but like you said I've often not been able to find a particular part I want. I think the big difference is whether you're building/maintaining a bike because you like riding bikes or you're building/upgrading a bike because you want all matching gold AXS or top-to-bottom orange anodized Hope bits for the Instagram. I just ride my bikes, so I've been fine.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Sad that this is what inspired me to finally pitch in. This is total BS. This is total conjecture, based on nothing. Consider that this is precisely how people like Weinstein got away with their shit for so long. Erode somebody's reputation by implying that they're difficult to work with. I know you're not responsible for her contract, but come on. Consider how hard people here worked to defend the reputation of a well known male pro recently. And he actually did something worth criticizing! But based on nothing, you're going to speculate that...

10 speed is rad. The 7-speed makes it difficult to ride behind buddies on the trail. Works well for solo rides though, and goes faster than a single speed!
