Rumour of my demise have been exaggerated. We are safe. But we are forever changed. A water & wind event of near biblical proportions hit us & has taken far more lives than can be counted. On my SJEvo I had some velcro that I attached in the bottom inside of the frame and I'd strap down my tool bag. Made the bike dead quiet.

Go look at inflation, high end bikes have always been expensive. In 2004, an SWorks Enduro was $4800. (Around $8500 today). In 2009, an SWorks Epic was $8800. (Approximately $13,000 today) I don’t understand why everyone suddenly thinks the sky is falling. Next everyone will be complaining that $250,000 for a Huraćan is insane because a Countach used to be $100,000. It’s not like you were going to buy one anyway.

I've been away for a while, so not checking regularly for a couple weeks, so I spent a couple hours trying to catch up, prolly 12 or so pages the content and tone of comments has changed drastically in the last year. I can only assume with increased users and engagement, which has brought along with it, a much more negative and judgy tone. Three example bikes with different progression and same amounts of travel. All straight lines for the sake of simplicity. Force at the wheel due to spring rate alone with each bike having identical sag at the wheel (stiffer spring for more progressive bike). Lets say you are railing a long long berm and your rear wheel needs to support 400 lbs of force… if the berm is long enough shaft speed goes to zero (save for bumps in the berm of course) so spring is what holds you up. 27% bike will sit at 180mm of travel used and 37%...
