10/5/2024 3:09pm Rumour of my demise have been exaggerated. We are safe. But we are forever changed. A water & wind event of near biblical proportions hit us & has taken far more lives than can be counted. Didn't know where to make my one post, but this will be it for a long time. No politician, no plan, no design could have stopped anything that happened here. A stream I could step across took the first home at the top of it. A friend lost 10 members of his family saving his wife and kids watching his parents & relatives swept...

10/1/2024 7:52am Hate to post a link to the other site, but its the only reference I could find - could well be Shimano's own direct mount... https://www.pinkbike.com/news/shimano-patent-shows-direct-mount-electro…

9/27/2024 2:05pm On my SJEvo I had some velcro that I attached in the bottom inside of the frame and I'd strap down my tool bag. Made the bike dead quiet.

9/24/2024 3:33pm Stop this now. You are using logic and facts to explain pricing. They won’t like it. But seriously this - look at that stumpy - s-works and full top end Fox - that is always going to equal big bucks. But guess what - Specialized aren’t forcing you to buy it - there are cheaper versions of the Stumpjumer you...

9/24/2024 3:30pm Go look at inflation, high end bikes have always been expensive. In 2004, an SWorks Enduro was $4800. (Around $8500 today). In 2009, an SWorks Epic was $8800. (Approximately $13,000 today) I don’t understand why everyone suddenly thinks the sky is falling. Next everyone will be complaining that $250,000 for a Huraćan is insane because a Countach used to be $100,000. It’s not like you were going to buy one anyway.

9/12/2024 1:56am Someone give Sven Martin the budget to deploy 6 squids across the EDR race course / weekend and produce a mixed media slideshow like the old Vital shows and Enduro coverage would be great again.

9/5/2024 4:27pm From the Enduro Facebook group. Looks like the 2025 model will have a UDH chainstay update and that’s it.

9/2/2024 1:23am "See You Monday" on Finn's (& Loic's?) tyres this weekend - do we believe Finn saying its just a way of saying they're out for the weekend, or is something being released today..?

8/25/2024 3:18pm I've been away for a while, so not checking regularly for a couple weeks, so I spent a couple hours trying to catch up, prolly 12 or so pages the content and tone of comments has changed drastically in the last year. I can only assume with increased users and engagement, which has brought along with it, a much more negative and judgy tone. I was drawn to this comment section for the rumours and innovation (and spy shots, and great info from the likes or TEAMROBOT, Cascade, Dave, and many others) but I find myself turned off by the...

8/14/2024 2:11pm Three example bikes with different progression and same amounts of travel. All straight lines for the sake of simplicity. Force at the wheel due to spring rate alone with each bike having identical sag at the wheel (stiffer spring for more progressive bike). Lets say you are railing a long long berm and your rear wheel needs to support 400 lbs of force… if the berm is long enough shaft speed goes to zero (save for bumps in the berm of course) so spring is what holds you up. 27% bike will sit at 180mm of travel used and 37%...

8/5/2024 12:25am One of my friends had his first ride on his new Stumpy Ohlins yesterday. He loves it. I had a spin and it is very nice. Is it value for money - that depends - but he’s very happy with it. He had a V1 RipMo and seemed to gel with the Stumpy very well.

8/5/2024 12:20am Sinyard did actually publicly apologise for those trademark/copyright sagas. Iirc they did resolve those cases too. How much knowledge he had of, and during them is a debatably hazy subject though. I really disliked them for buying Horst link and calling it FSR. Very shrewd business but shitty practice. I avoided them like the plague during that period, but thankfully live in the UK where it wasn’t too much ofban issue. That said I doubt the split pivot and vpp/maestro/dw-link variants would’ve been so prolific if Horst was public.

8/5/2024 12:20am Why? Because they consistently make great bikes decade after decade and refuse to sell out? Never got the specialized hate.
