1/22/2025 11:48pm Team rumours rule 16.2E: An athlete using a bike during an offseason training ride shall not be strong indicator of sponsorship changes. If the bike is not from the category of the athlete's chosen discipline or if the athlete is travelling, it will not constitute a rumour. 1/21/2025 11:35pm Actually, SRAM t-type AXS is a heavier, more expensive UDH specific drivetrain when compared to regular AXS and mechanical. While I havenât conducted a global bike brand part spec inventory, it appears to me, that most wireless shifting equipped bikes are coming with UDH specific t-type AXS. This is exactly the reason why SRAM got everyone they could on board with UDH. To launch this specific drivetrainâŠ.and that drive train is heavier and more expensive. I would argue that my point does compute.

1/15/2025 12:20am It straight up works. Why change it? Man bike riders are a fickle bunch, not happy when a good product doesn't get updated or revised, not happy when a part constantly changes.

1/15/2025 12:15am Kinda disheartening to see all kinds of crappy team politics creeping in MTB. It is not a team sport and access to World Cup should be based on individual performance. A simpler system would make more sense and be more fair. Let's have a couple of continent qualifiers open to everybody (and broadcasted as a wc by W
anybody in the top 20 got a ticket to race wc. Teams then organize themselves around whoever can race.. We are going to see the value of WC racing dilute itself through the years..

1/15/2025 12:09am so the alternates are considered under a bunch of different criteria, that can be summarized as "cover for the UCI to choose who they want." We don't know for sure all the details of Gwin's team, but the way it looks right now, it's likely if his team is chosen, it's at the cost of another team that has more UCI points than his team has. So either Gwin races and somebody else deserving doesn't, or vice versa. and that's what the UCI wanted.

1/15/2025 12:05am Pardon my French, but Momo on Les Gets 2024 (and Momo -period) or even any Thirion line is anything but "deathgripping on a ski slope".

1/14/2025 12:19am OneUp SPD compatible pedal incoming, as light as XTR Trail with (almost) the platform of Saint and DH Mallet. Claim to fame, thinnest SPD on the market, and they've tightened up the binding so you don't get that metal on metal vague feeling (before reaching the float). There was an exclusive Downtime podcast on it a couple of days ago which now seems to have been pulled down, they may have jumped the gun.

1/13/2025 10:05am SH: "...Itâs actually been super disappointing that many long-time sponsors that I have stayed loyal to throughout my career canât even make an effort to reply to emails or messages." Damn, choosing to not pick up the phone/email when SH calls is a choice for sure. He's not on top of the game anymore but at least pitch him some gear ffs.
