The issue with cycling in America is there is almost no quality infrastructure for it in vast majority of places. I could easily physically bike to work on regular bike. Could easily commute to any job I had in last 10 years on e-bike physically. There is even a bike trail for most of the distance. But the short sections from my home to the trail and the trail to work are so dangerous I’d never consider it for full time commuting. RE: 2016: People may not remember this, but it was not a good year in the bike industry. Europe had terrible weather in March and April, Brexit was happening, there was an unforeseen glut of inventory (at the wholesale/distribor) level in the USA and China saw a big slowdown that caused their market to contract. Don't replace with a Sight, supplement! Both the Range and carbon Fluid went away. With the Optic going away it's becoming a very skinny premium lineup. lithium ion batteries are mostly recycleable these days. those raw materials are way too lucrative to throw away. you need of course a country with a functioning recycling system (read: NOT THE USA) who isn't still using landfills...
