I really like the 130mm 34SL with Grip X Not flexy at all and excellent dampening. Mine came with some air in lowers that caused it to ramp up at the end of the stroke. Once I bled that out, I’ve had no complaints.

The 34SL is a really great fork with GripX. The chassis is fairly stiff, and the weight is really impressive. It really suits xc-light trail, but it’s not the same as a stiffer trail fork. If you wanted stiffer you have lots of options, the 36SL is going to be really amazing if you want to point and shoot. The Helm is a great fork for this too. I've been very happy with regular chassis Fox 34's with Grip X and Grip X2 dampers on my "down country" hardtail and short travel bikes. I never really feel the need for for a chassis upgrade to 36. If you go Fox, avoid the Fit4 damper as it is not usefully adjustable, under damped and "Unfit4 aggressive riding". Grip X seems to be the sweet spot of having lockout and good damping. I looked into the patent and unfortunately they have you beat by a few months. Provisional was filed in March of 2025. Provisional patents are a great way to buy yourself time to fully decide if you want to pursue something while getting a foot legally in the door and not spending a ton of money. It gives you a year to decide if you want to proceed with a full on patent and doesn't have to go through the same review process so pretty much anyone can file one.

I have literally been trying to file a third-party preissuance submission with the US Patent Office for 2 hours but their website and phone menus are dogshit so I'm giving up. It would have been hilarious if submitting a pdf of vital comments is what got a patent not approved. Anyone got contacts at SRAM? Would be good to at least contact them lol.

I may be mistaken but it looks to me like there may be an off menu item for those who wanted the MT to have all the adjustments of the LT. If you put a 160 fork on the LT and shortened the shock stroke to 60 or 62.5 instead of 65, you could get approximately the the same geo as the MT with the rear travel reduced to right around 150, you could even go 57.5 stroke and get really close to 140 rear travel. Romy 2.5 trail soft looks good. Not that big. Not any taller than an Albert, thats for sure. Excited to try this out in the rear paired with a Tacky Chan trail ultra soft in front. Tacky Chan works great in the rear also, but seemed to wear out a bit quick. I think dual Tacky Chans really is a "race" setup like Schwalbe says.

I know this is a setup discussion thread, but did want to chime in on something I find interesting. It seems like everyone of the press release images has like 25mm or more of headset spacers under the stem. If that is how you want to present the bike, and hint that it's where the bars should be, then maybe just add +10 or so to your stack height. I get that people look at reach and ignore stack, but lets be honest. a 480 bike with 25mm of spacers is a very similar if not identical to a 470ish...
