Like Fox Brain or Reaktiv? Not really excited for a bike coming with a special shock. The past shown it was never a way to go. What a bummer if true.

The chain slap taping on Canyon's downtube and seattube... to silence mud slinging off the tires?

Is... Is this an insult? That's the most mundane accusation I can think of. "I bet you enjoy mustard on your hot dogs. And drink water when you're thirsty."

Still too nuanced. The elite field is way deeper and way more trained now. Just like almost everything else, like supercross. You don't really get to be a semi-muscular party animal who rocks up to the hut and takes first these days. And a lot of times the tracks are getting short and bike parky to create tighter racing... Although that doesn't describe VDS at all. And then of course modern bikes. Not only are they clearly better BUT they are significantly better for outlier body types. I'm still DEFINITELY not gonna say those 2 runs are comparable. And I'd...

just so it's on the record (again), when transmission dropped, on that very day, we showed that shifting was slower than previous axs. - https://youtu.be/ooilfJ2SEiQ?si=3HzuoD9OusEMyaeJ&t=691 go to 11:31 in the video

I'm friends with an Ex- WC racer who raced the same years as Nico, she told me a few years ago that he did this even with his tires. He would figure out which tires were best for the World Champs course and would race them for every race leading up to Worlds, regardless of conditions. Wet race...same tires, dry race...same tires, crazy rock gardens...same tires.

It's only telemetry if it comes from the telemetry region of France; otherwise it's just sparkling data acquisition. But actually: If the data being collected aren't also being transmitted, it isn't telemetry.

Can't take credit for this hot take, but props to the person who articulated it. Watching someone's ENTIRE full run of a World Cup DH is a tough watch. You lose context of where the past racers made/lost time or had a different line that you enjoy or even notice. I assume there is less "splice" to do in that way so the engineer doesn't have to overlap cameras in his control booth to mesh a good view. Just drop camera by camera in sequence. But it's not that "choice bite" of the meal we all want. I'm still of...

afaik, domestic races with high enough UCI classification award UCI points to successful finishers an opportunity to race a world cup, so the "feeder" system exists in some way already. it would *seem* that points don't get you into a WC in '25, only being on a select team. (the domestic/regional race promoter has to agree to pay for the UCI classification to award points and not many do that these days)

I don't know if anyone watched with subtitles, but at the end the host says Brook Macdonald had a look at it and wasn't too enthused. Host said it was the bike parkiest track in recent memory, but also that it's brand spankin new (compared the surface to a baby's bottom lol) and who knows what it'll look like by...

2017 EWS at Whistler, dubbed crankzilla two, I dont even remember how much climbing we had to do but it was massive. Also before eagle really landed so most of us were rocking 45t cassettes and a 32t chainring. Oh hey these guys say everything way better: https://www.vitalmtb.com/news/news/RESULTS-2017-Enduro-World-Series-Cra… Anways, mega day. After practice day, Ben Furbee or Nate, I get those two mixed up, decides that the course is fucking gnarly and rocks up on his v10 for race day. Dudes no slouch and made all the transfers by sheer willpower and lots of running. Was it the best choice...

I think it is all of the above. Loic's Suspension is the best because of the time, skill and efforts him and his Team put into everything they do, specifically testing. Loic's Bike is the best, because Specialized uses him (The Best Rider) to build and develop the bikes. Best Rider + Best Engineers + Lots of Testing = Best Bikes Loic is the best rider, because of everything he does between waking up, and going to sleep each and everyday, as well as the support from his Team, Ohlins and Specialized. IMO, the suspension, bike or Loic could not...

If Benoit's gear cable doesn't drop to the lowest gear & stay right out of the gate, we're not talking about Loic...at all. Have you guys looked at the Splits?

Some big criticism here. If liaisons really were that shorts it’s very understandable though, rocche gianche is fucking terrifying and the other stages are „flowy“ trails but still Finale trails and some are reeeally long
