For all you Twinloc haters out there, the new Genius ST model disconnects the fork from the dual lockout so it's rear-only (and it's available with a reservoir shock).

ngl had to unfollow him and Aston because of the whole „this and only this is the best and everything else is garbage“ Can the bike industry do better? Sure, but I don’t want to be bombarded all the time by how shit everything is, I’ve got the normal news for that. also, Genius is up on binkpike. As expected from Scott there are a lot of cables, and everything is internal. Just a few notes/opinions: 1) The current Genius uses a Fox 36 because the 34 is no longer available in 150 mm. Even the 34 that Scott used on the Genius before the change was a beefed up version using the e-bike CSU. So either it isn't a 34, or it isn't 150+ mm travel. Edit: I've read some chatter of a Spark LT, which might have a 34. 2) Twinloc is great. 3) Dangerholm should be looking for new shorts not a new bike. 4) It's already 3/11 here, hurry up Scott.

10/28/2022 4:44pm I just got word that there's a new bike coming from YT. No reason to get excited though, because unfortunately it isn't the updated Jeffsy a lot of people are waiting for. It's gonna be a gravel bike and it's called "Szepter".

I downvoted for calling it a steering damper, which it is not. But apparently you realized that with the "bar centering device" comment. Either way, here's an upvote for the "market maturity" comment, because while there are always improvements being made, I totally agree that the ~5 year performance gap shrinks with each new model.

Cost synergies! Excellent. UCI goons get theirs on these deals, so I'd love to know if selling out an entire wing of the sport was worth it for them in their calculus (it probably was). New vacation homes in the south of France don't buy themselves!

I know, that sucks. But I've been there (former sponsored "pro" XC racer) and I can tell you it's honestly just part of your job as a sponsored athlete. Same as doing any old job for any other company, you could be laid off for a multitude of reasons - not all of them even being within your control.
