How did we ever have fun riding bikes as kids before batteries and motors? What a terrible childhood I must have had.

The number one challenge for any brand in the Motorsports or bike world is to get someone to actually have tried your product. We are a wierd subset of gear heads. I’m sure the majority of us have spent cash purely to try something they never intended to own just to try the tech. And plenty of us have interests in spending money to try something from a brand we have zero personal experience with. On the flip side a lot of people have never ridden anything besides what they have owned. And there is a confirmation bias that whatever...

This is actually something I brought up in a convo (on instagram maybe). I'm not sure if they do it now but they need to make scoring more transparent. You should visibly get a score in each 'category' from trick level to amplitude to execution to style to line difficulty, whatever, and it should ADD UP to a total score. AFAIK that is how the scoring currently works but they do not show the breakdown. I also think... Ya know I don't want it to turn into olympic gymnastics, but I think riders should have some idea, an inkling of...

Everyone has their ideas on how to improve rampage. No, nobody is going to listen to us armchair forum users, but regardless, here's mine. Switch to a one run format. Firstly reduces the chance of a wind hold or cancellation, also simplifies the scheduling and filming without a big dead spot in the middle, followed by half the riders not taking a second run anyway. Secondly, it might make the riders just a fraction more concerned for their own safety knowing they don't have a do-over. scoring - either give us a breakdown of scores per category, or scores per...

I usually do less than 5 days of chairlift each year so a full blown DH is not worth but a burly enduro bike 160mm+ can fit for rougher regular trails and the occasional chairlift/shuttle day. And a 2026 element (120/130mm 28lbs) make the darker blue/single black trails a lot of fun and still feeling relatively fresh after 1000m+ D rides.

A 170 with burly everything and a 120 or 130mm true trail bike with medium-weight everything. If I can have one more, it's a dirt jumper, and if I get four I'm adding a DH bike. But medium is as light as I can go. I can't have light things because I break them.

On DHF talk, I'd happily never ride that tire ever again - Had some of the scariest moments on that tire, I'd happily have a Forekaster on the front over it.

Yeah keen to try one. More efficient? Maybe. More like a normal drivetrain? Definitely. I’ve been in a high pivot for several years and have been annoyed with shifting precision and noisy clutches. This seems like a nice way to remove these issues, and more chain wrap all around is another nice bonus

This is gonna piss off some folks here, but YT thought I should watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nO1ov28Se_o I think the interesting takeaway for me is that it seems like T-Type drivetrains were heavily beefed up, ostensibly to handle shifting under ebike loads, but now throwing eCVTs into the ebike space might pretty much kill the conventional DR-based drivetrains for ebikes of the not so distant future. I'm curious what this means for future drivetrains on pedal bikes? Will they get more compact and lighter again, or are the S companies too far down the road of burly electric shifting to go...

The new fluid looks like a great bike, just like the last one, but man 35#’s for a 130mm bike is chonky. I know from personally owning aluminum norcos they are not lightweights, but that new lyrik is pretty heavy too. Do we really need a lyrik on a 140mm forked bike? Pike chassis seems totally suitable for this situation.

And just like that, I've just learned that being able to switch between 30T and 32T charrings without having to faff with chain length is also one of the many benefits of the Jab over Transmission. Looking at where the drivetrains of SRAM and Shimano have been going lately, Madrone's timing could not have been any better.

For me it's that I've never had a problem getting X01 and XX1 mechanical Eagle DRs to shift perfectly, and all the T-type DRs are much larger and heavier. I still prefer mechanical, as am one of the few that prefers a grip shift instead of a trigger, and again, the size and weight.

This is what I'm planning on doing. My issue with Eagle 90 is that, no matter what I do, it seems like it just can't be setup perfectly. The lack of limit screws and b-adjust make it a pain to try and get it totally dialed in. When it works, it works OK, but when it doesn't, the process of fixing it just doesn't seem to fix it entirely. There is always something out of alignment or slightly off. I've setup or installed many other drivetrains including SRAM 12 speed without this being an issue, but neither me nor bike...
