Most bikes you see people on here are long travel enduro. That will be the next bike I buy. There is a market.

I hate to bash on the people that work hard to put this event on, but man it’s so annoying to see some wind (probably) cancel the event. The riders and crews are already out here for weeks before. I think there should be a weather window where they can hold the final anytime in a 5-7 day period. WSL and FWT both do this, along with other outdoor focused sports. Idk man…

I know we are mostly gravity oriented here, but the Cannondale Factory (XC) team is shutting down and Maxime Marotte announced that Origine Racing Division will be without Origine come 2027. Origine said that they will continue as a frame sponsor some place else. The Cannondale development leaves a lot of quick people looking for teams next year, although I am sure they must have something arranged already. In other XC topics, I wish people would talk more about what happened to Chiara Teocchi. She is left paralyzed and was fighting for her dear life a some weeks ago. It...

Minor edit - not necessarily the highest mileage users, but rather the ones to burns through the most gear. People here have mentioned having to swap out chains at 500 miles on their ebbs. I get between 2000 and 2500 on my pedal bikes. I'm assuming they blow through cassettes and chainrings at a comparable rate. One of my race buddies now has over 18k miles on an XX1 cassette that he got on a Blur 3. The solution I'm hoping for is that the e-bikes, other than low-power SL models, will start getting ebike-specific parts, and pedal bikes can...

A+ changes to the tempo. I've always been commencal curious but all of them that filter in/out of my riding crew sound like a coffee can full of ball bearings going down the trail. Regarding headset cable routing... it obviously sucks. One thing I wish we had gotten out of cable tourism period is headtubes that can accommodate reach adjust headsets. I was honestly hoping that the chunky head tubes that headset cable routing were ushering in would normalize ZS56/ZS66 headsets. I feel like that adds value to the tip of the spear tinkerer users and detracts nothing from the...

Those shitty plastic headsets are popping up EVERYWHERE. Like, okay, you want to have headset routing, fine. Yes, that’s slightly annoying when you change the headset once a year. But now it becomes infinitely more annoying when the headset starts to fail on the first ride

Do any industry folks have some inside baseball into how decisions that eventually get walked back like headset routing, wireless only (Santa Cruz walking back in new Nomad launch video), and even Super Boost get through in the first place? To us common folk, this was the obvious outcome of all of those choices, but I want to believe the industry is not really that out of touch with their customer.

Commencal quietly dropped the Tempo "V2" with the only revision being they got rid of the headset cable routing. (praise be!)

I'm 6'6" here and have zero interest in 32in wheel bikes, my XXL Spire is long enough on tight trails. I'm more concerned with the XXL sizes disappearing from lineups at a rather rapid pace with no explanation. I know we are a small market in the XXL frame size. But Transition dropped all XXL sizes for 2026 and their 2027 lineup won't see the size return. Yeti offered the SB140 and SB160 in XXL but are not offering it in LT or MT. It's a shame to see companies pulling back from this size as it nice finally riding...

To make that XL Trek 32" fit me, I'd need about an 80mm positive stem and 50mm riser bars. I know there aren't that many people who are 6'6"+, but surely there are more of them than there are 5'2" people who would actually buy that bike, right?

They will have to rethink it and also make a first party 28T at least if not even a 26T. Unless they are going 13spd and 60T in the back.

Bike industry: 32" might make sense for tall people! Also the bike industry: Lots of small and medium 32" frames, no XXL frames.

Saint drivetrain with 12sp chain and no clutch, now a competing UDH standard. (incoming 13sp MTB drivetrain? *eyeroll *) Can Shimano come out with a single new product without a braindead decision? Maybe the new brake rotors but come on that's not interesting or innovative. Also does anyone give a f about Shimano's new brakes? I've yet to see them in the wild, and have seen exactly ONE wireless Shimano drivetrain. Very sad to me because I've always been a Shimano fanboy because they made simple, sensible products. I woke up one day and all of my bikes have been...
