It’s nice, but I’m still holding out for a Pinion MGU with belt drive or a Bosch equivalent for a virtually maintenance free ride.

When interest rates were lower I can guarantee people were doing cash out refinances and using some of the money to buy a new toy. Now I would be surprised with interest rates being so high. I’m sure in large metro areas there are plenty of people that can buy these cash. Rural areas probably not as much, $10k is a lot of most people.

Maybe I’ve been mountain biking too long but that Specialized is boring AF. Really what were they hiding? Nothing, absolutely nothing. Hype department has a lot of funding, engineering department maybe not as much.

Nice man! I’m on full 27.5 x 2.8 because I’m a little on the shorter side, (5’7) and I just like smaller and wider wheels. I they’re lighter, stronger, accelerate faster and brake shorter and they handle quicker. And with the excellent long travel suspension, rollover is great too. 👍🏼

Thanks mate, much appreciated. I am flirting with this idea to fit a Rohloff Speedhub instead of the usual setup and wanted to start calculating how heavy would be this setup. I am curious why you have gone with the 27.5 wheelset? On purpose to save weight or you simply transfered them from a different build?

I weighed the frame/motor/shock without the battery and it was 17.99lbs with the stock Rockshox shock and complete ride wrap. So add 10lbs for the 750w battery and the weight would be 27.99lbs. I also weighted it with a Fox X2 and a headset, but without the ride wrap or battery and it was 18.03lbs. So the Fox was slightly heavier, but the ride wrap was 150g, so it evened out removing that.
