It’s nice, but I’m still holding out for a Pinion MGU with belt drive or a Bosch equivalent for a virtually maintenance free ride.

There was a time when TRANSITION was a fantastic company. That's history since they built bicycles with an auxiliary motor. Shame on them

Finally, an ebike that breaks six figures. Took long enough. Odd that the lower level build is $93,000 more than the higher level one.

I wonder how many of these bikes are being financed? I would have to assume the majority of $10k, $12k bikes are bought on credit. I just can’t imagine the seeming endless slew of e-bikes out there are cash purchases.

When interest rates were lower I can guarantee people were doing cash out refinances and using some of the money to buy a new toy. Now I would be surprised with interest rates being so high. I’m sure in large metro areas there are plenty of people that can buy these cash.  Rural areas probably not as much, $10k is a lot of most people.

10k is a lot, but with inflation it’s a lot less than it used to be.  And at the same time, 10k is not a lot to many of the people buying these.  I’m not trying to flex or anything it’s just not that much to me.   15 years ago I thought my 300 dollar bike was insanely expensive.  
Oh and for the record I do think these are overpriced.  I’m not saying I want them to be this expensive.  I know for my business shipping anything from Taiwan or China is still 3 times more expensive than before Covid.  I imagine it’s not all just greedy margins for all the bike manufacturers.  Not sure as I’m not in that industry.
