Anyone else notice Reese pedaling an impossibly low gear after he finished the race? Did his gearbox spaz out or drop his belt?

Along with not being called out for causing any incidents (so far), I mean the dude has a single finger for braking and beat hardtail guy by ~90 seconds. The rider that took the longest to cross the line was... Dak. As far as I know he caused no incidents to other riders all weekend. It seems that the true issue causing problems in this scenario wasn't necessarily the bike type, how many fingers you have, or how many times you crashed... More so what resides between the ears. And how you can use it to safely navigate a course...

Well he is the champ for his country and has an actual physical disability verses just a guy pulling a bit of a “look at me”. Again I’m not even mad the hardtail guy is there. I just think he should’ve borrowed a buddy’s bike and gave it an actual go.

I'm not going to cast too much shade on Hardtail Bro. I will, however, cast plenty on the mixed messaging and policies of WBD/UCI. Their implied goal has been to raise the professionalism and elite nature of the sport. Simultaneously, they've allowed a racer to use a hardtail to compete. This is inconsistent with the way they're supposedly pushing the sport. I also will cast a little shade on our community. We've bemoaned the loss of grassroots accessibility to the World Cups while also bashing hardtail dude, who represents just such grassroots privateerism. Dude managed to navigate the red tape...

Hattie Harnden was my first pick in Fantasy. As soon as I saw the track, I thought her and Martin Maes would have a good weekend...and then I removed her because I saw some footage of how shitty that bike looks. I'm a dummie dumb dumb.

I dont think there will be many bikes where ochain is used running 32 inch wheels in the back, they limit movement too much on downhills

Gonna be a dick and point out that if you run smaller than a 32t, you don’t need a power meter, you need a gym. Edit: it’s not my opinion, just an uncomfortable matter of fact for why they don’t make power meters for 30t rings. I’m sure there are exceptions, like people riding fully loaded 87lb touring bikes who pump out 450 watts so they can go at a walking pace. Or Primoz who apparently lives in a magical land where rock climbing and mountain biking intersect.

Makes sense since they're likely going to be win/podium contenders out of the box. Certainly making finals every race, unlike many established elites.

Judging by some comments here and certainly on the pink site, it seems there's a serious issue with average Joe MTBers being able to judge the gradient, difficulty and length of a track from watching GoPro footage. This Korean track looks like it's gonna be awkward, tech, blown out and quite steep + off camber. Probably not fun to ride, but it will make for a challenging race.

Looking at a topo map I think it’s at least 400m vertical, probably closer to 500m.

Quoting measurements to 0.01mm on an aluminium mountain bike frame; they are very very over confident in the manufacturing capability of the factory.

The only thing I meant to say is that there's no reason to rush out an update for the rear triangle when there is only a single drivetrain on the market that makes use of it, and one that would make the adjustments the current bike has more complicated to impliment. The next V10 should have it, because you're right there isn't a good reason to not have it on the next bike. Maybe a mid run update would be worth it if Sram drops a mechanical, or lower price point axs version but I don't see that happening really...

If anything DH riders and athletes in general are more professional in their training and racing nowadays, but a lot of times when an athlete says they are here to win, crush their opponents etc… a bunch of people online talk shit: “you need to be more humble”, “you aren’t good enough to talk like that”. DH is smaller but...
