I'm an engineering manager in aerospace that spends a lot of time with customers at various DoD agencies. Can confirm that none of the people actually making decisions will ever go on a Podcast or any social media platform. The fact that he feels comfortable going on Joe Rogan and spewing all of that information just tells you that he is not privy to real information.

I've just cracked open my first of the evening and I'm finding it hard to fault the logic..

Hot take: we need less elites in finals (for men). I'd vote for 20 Elite Men, 15 (and eventually 20) Elite Women in Finals. Maybe not right this moment, but eventually. The current package is already a long watch, and they still don't capture entire runs of every rider. I think there is lot of potential with less racers to hone in on elevating each racers notoriety; potential to adjust the schedule to minimize track degradation and allow for safer speed increases throughout a weekend; and hopefully more money paid across the entire field. These changes feel very dependent on...

The wiffer is only in the air spring. Cone valves are in the damper. Maybe chasing the same performance or ride feel. Yes very similar to ramp control, but used for fairly different reasons

It works on a dyno and I thought it added a benefit to riding. Obviously I'm super biased though. I will say- it was a fairly large pain in the ass to get a patent pushed through the right channels at SRAM, so that effort should show we thought it was a good idea.

Hey look what I found in the parts bin: This was one of the last things I worked on at RS before I left... goal was to control big hits by weakening or slowing down the return of the air spring. I run my setup with a lot of spring and no damping, so getting bucked on big hits is...

Ahh, I forgot about the force vector being along the axis that connects the two pinned points. That's my bad. Thanks to your help, I actually have an answer now, which is a significant improvement compared to ~an hour earlier. I didn't expect you to reply at all since I posted this thread half jokingly, but I honestly appreciate it 👍

Hi all, I'm the 'Gosling' being referenced in the Bikeradar article. I had meetings in Les gets with five teams, YT being one and I'll start by saying that Gunnar Franke (Team Manager) is one of the best guys in the pits running a great team with awesome riders and staff. However we (Nukeproof) don't have the budget to go from 'no team' to one of the best, and highest budget teams in the pits when today we are not even selling any bikes. I also feel that we are not the type of brand that wants or needs one...

I do like the idea of having the option to mix "enduro" front and "DH" rear. For example a single crown DH Build or a dual crown enduro build. Nothing revolutionary but people love to tinker around with their bikes, myself included.

Ran my G1 with a triple clamp last year, formula Nero. Definitely a lot stiffer up front, but felt like the fork worked more consistently through the bigger hits. No creekty csus either!! Downside was tyre clearance as it’s a pretty short fork axle to crown, so squeezing it on a 130mm headtube was very precise and too close for my liking. Fox40 and a boxxer gives a bit more room on the headtube, so will pick one up at some point.

I much prefer DC forks for burly enduro trails, lift assisted dh or bike park runs. If the daily uphill ride is over 500m vertical, then I’d rather take another bike or modify the bike for these long, one day epics, w/ a sc fork.

I absolutely love my previous gen boxxer on my pedal bike. I have a 15mm axle conversion and with a direct mount the stem the weight difference to a 38/Zeb is absolutely negligible. Being able to run a longer spring for the same axle to crown is just an added bonus. The super wide top tube of my spire did cause some steering issues while climbing with the short offset crowns but the narrower tubes of my frameworks enduro has been trouble free.
