I can only assume with increased users and engagement, which has brought along with it, a much more negative and judgy tone. I'm 198cm/6'5". I'm loyal to whichever brand makes a properly designed bike that fits me. So kudos out there to Nicolai/Geometron, Yeti, Santa Cruz, Transition, Atherton and Contra for making proper XXLs (and the brands like Norco and Knolly whose newer models in XL border on gigantic). And a big "just when did you plan on doing it?" to Specialized who still hasn't released the Enduro carbon in S6 - but don't worry it's too late now I wouldn't buy one even if you did.

Why is there so much backlash against frame manufactures like Santa Cruz and Specialized going electronic drivetrain only but no one is questioning what is driving that decision? With GX level AXS and transmission, and the new OEM level transmission SRAM has all but said we aren't doing mechanical shifting anymore. I have no idea what Shimano's plans are with the new Di2 replacement but my guess is that it's going to cover a wide range of performance levels to compete with SRAM, possibly even cannibalizing all their mechanical shifting options. That leaves you with CUES, which by all accounts...

Unpopular opinion but transmission is a clear/undeniable benefit over any existing cable stuff

I think it has less to do with savviness and more with getting inside info from SRAM and Shimano on what they have coming down the pipeline in the next 5-10 years. Component manufacturers including drivetrain and suspension obviously go to all the major bike companies and give them a roadmap that shows where they are heading and what's being developed.

Well I wouldnt call oneup a company with "honest engineers who make better products". I could go with "honest engineers who make good enough products with some obvious flaws that are sold for cheaper than competitors" though. Cases in point: dropper posts, pedals, edc tools I have owned and all of them had one bad thing that just does not make sense. Still bought though, so there's that.

Lets not fan boy too hard on these I have a V1, and V2 OneUp dropper that are not exceptions to the rule when it comes to both reliability, or standouts for OneUps customer relations. Both are known to be questionable (looking at you bushing that literally eat themselves) and any PB or NSMB review went on to claim them as the best thing since sliced bread, when PNW stuff quietly worked better, and were better to their customers. I'll reserve any opinion on these hubs for actual long term reviews. As a side note, I'm a fan of OneUp...

I really like the current AXS post head setup. When I service my AXS seatposts, I know that when I put the saddle back on, they will be at exactly the same angle that they were at before I removed the saddle.

Let's be honest, people are downvoting comments on Lewis brakes because their marketing/brand HQ is in China, unlike every other brake company that has its marketing/brand HQ located in the West but has its products manufactured in China.

If you've only ridden transmission around in a parking lot, it seems laggy. Once you're riding it on trail and adjust to the fact that you can just hammer away at shifts whenever you want... the lag factor goes away. I can agree that the complexity and cost is meh, arguably not worth it. If you've been riding a long time and have a well trained thumb and coordination of your thumb to briefly letting off the power... then it's not really 'needed'. I will say however, after using it for a while, you start to shift differently, potentially shift...
