I don't buy Ford because of the Michigan Supreme Court's decision in the 1919 case Dodge v. Ford Motor Company.

I’m not pro-Evil but dude this is like bringing up the Pinto as a reason not to get a new Ford. There may be plenty of relevant and current reasons but this isn’t one.

There's more going on in the background that most people are not aware of, but making good on our supply chain and manufacturing partners is a critical step to ensure our good standing in the industry and future brand viability.

Could the Rocky bike just be stuff they already had the ball rolling on before their financial troubles a couple years ago. Now they are in a better money spot but still have a bunch of 2-3 year frames/motor packages they now need to get rid of first before bringing new designs to market, hence the "out of date" package...

Long time lurker, first time poster here. For some background I’m an aerospace composites engineer and spent several years in Advanced Product Development with an emphasis on environmentally friendly materials. There’s so much to get into on this topic and if folks are interested I’d love to start a dedicated thread on materials and environmental impacts. The TLDR is, carbon fiber as a green product on its own is a fallacy. The raw fiber production may result in a certain level of carbon sequestering, but the process is still so energy intensive I wouldn’t call it an environmental positive. As...

For those who didn't read the link, "If an individual or retailer are caught modifying an ebike to derestrict its maximum speed, the offence is now punishable by up to one-year imprisonment (two year for retailers) and up to a €30,000 fine." For individuals: "anyone modifying their ebike to exceed the maximum authorized speed – currently 25 km/h for electric bicycles and 45 km/h for speed pedelecs – could now have their bike impounded, face one year in prison and fines of up to €30,000." IIRC he relieved (i.e. dremeled out) the arch of a 27.5" fork to cram a 29er in there and then raced it at Fort William so this seems reasonable compared to that...

my 2 cents after spending some time on the bike is that I really want to spend more time on the bike. A couple anecdotes here: I was surprised at how well it pedalled and the lack of heft that I was expecting after looking at it. After giving it back for a month I had to film on it with no time to get familiar again. First trail was a rapid North Van classic that I have ridden a bunch and I was immediately sending it. It was extremely poppy while still being planted, able to pull for all...

I am fine with 12spd Eagle X01 durability, except for the clutches. Although I always liked Shimano I wasn‘t blown away by their 12spd mtb stuff. What absolutely amazes me is their 11spd Linkglide XT! I have 10.000km on my first cassette and second chain, now it is worn, but it still doesn‘t miss a single shift. I never even had to adjust the cable tension. It is so good, it is almost too good to be true. 250-300g more weight on the cassette to the Eagle. And only 11-50t, not 10 to 50t.

Thank you all for the interest in our bikes and in our distribution / sales model. To give you a bit of context, we’re currently a team of 9 people at RAAW, based in Germany, and we ship worldwide directly from here. The US has actually grown into our biggest market after Germany, which is pretty wild considering that every RAAW in the US has been shipped individually from Germany. Our goal is, of course, to make the ordering process and ownership experience as easy as possible. Having stock in the US would be ideal, but that comes with a...
