Shop guys pretty regularly see just about any frame on earth broken, and it really doesn't often turn any of us off a brand. Part of the issue with sharing these photos is the context is completely missed and then you end up with a parade of people saying things like "Orbeas aren't safe". I had an athlete send a picture of a development frame snapped exactly like the Orbea (top tube and downtube snapped clean through) and immediately we started panicking about testing and strength issues. The rider basically said "this ones on me". He hit a tree head on so hard the handlebars were bent backwards and the bike went flying down the hill and fully snapped when it landed 10m away...

As an actual garage bike building hack I don't see any " garage-made welding vibe" here. I see pro level work, 3d printed bb/pivot housing, and spotless welds. The pro that welded this really shouldn't be lumped in with garage level work. You hide "garage-made welding vibe " under paint designed to distract from looking at the welding, you put pro work like this on display in pure raw form.

Well that is clearly not going to happen next year, as the PDF states a total of 30 riders across both male and female categories. I wonder why so many people reference WB and the World Cups here. This is not a zero sum game. We are getting excellent World Cup racing, new Hardline tracks and now this series with huge prize money. If you don't see the value in paying to watch World Cups, don't. Closing thoughts on the new maxx Terra v2. Dh season is over for me now, and I’ve been riding the DHR2 since it opened. FWIW, this is on a DH bike at race pace for the season. Just about 160 miles and just under 100k feet of descending. Still has tons of breaking grip, can’t tell the difference in nor-cal dirt from maxx grip, but well over 2x the life, if not more.
