I had a phone call with the CEO and there were no other options on the table than that to leave. Worst part was that then following that they folded the team but I guess if I had of kept racing they wouldn't have. Anyways I think it happens more often than you think I know personally of some other riders who went through the same thing unfortunately.

It wasn't even the following season it was literally following me paying to get out that they then pulled out of racing all together

This 100% - peoole get too hung up on single details about a damper without inderstanding it only makes up for a tiny fraction of the performance - you can make almost any damper curve with multiple different valves but some will be easier than others, so each manufacturer will prioritise what they think achieves their specific goals. I think this is a great valid question. Here's my two cents on how to make a bike flickable/playful/poppy/unstable (four words that mean basically the same thing in MT : 1. Shorter chainstays. This has been beaten to death. 2. Higher BB. As others have said, your bike is more stable front to back when your feet are below the axles, and less stable when your feet are above them. 3. Smaller wheels. A mullet is more "flickable" than a 29" bike, and a dual 650 bike is going to be more unstable than a mullet bike. 26" bikes are king...

Now you can fine tune your Maven: Rotor size (180, 200, 220) Rotor shape and thickness (HS2 vs. Centerline, 1.8mm vs. 2.0) Pad compound (Organic vs. Metallic) Lever pull ratio (A1, B1, Base) Piston size (4x18 B1 caliper vs. 2x19.5mm + 2x18mm A1 caliper) That's 72 different combinations using SRAM Maven-specific components, and that's before we even talk about aftermarket pad compounds, rotor sizes, etc. And then there's the Shmaven crew.
