This is my last little quip for the day. I don't have any beef with the material used for anything as long as it works properly. I've never had issues with the material on Magura brakes. Once upon a time I thought max braking torque was the only thing that was important. In reality all decent brakes have more than enough power to lock up you wheels. As much as I wish I could say I only ever break 100% or not at all, the reality is most braking happens in the mid-range. A brake with insane outright stopping power...

Charlie Murray also racing and getting in the top 10 on a stumpy eco with a lyrik on the front. I think some riders are finding the lighter/shorter bikes fit their ride styles better when it comes to getting through 30-40 minutes of racing, even if it means sacrificing a bit of speed in the gnarliest stuff they’re able to save some energy and keep their avg speed up across the whole course.

Both are more powerful than MT5s and you can still use whatever pads you want. If you want best bang for your buck brakes got to go Hayes.

Adding a significant amount of power is always going to cost money. It’s not the same as buying some cranks just to make your bike look cool. If someone has the desire for more power and they have Shimano or TRP 4 pots or Codes there are two options; replace the entire brake set or replace just the caliper. Coincidentally that’s a similar cost. I think in this scenario we are more looking at cost to solve a problem and not how many parts you get for that cost because, again, it’s not just adding bling. Dual crowns won't lower the loads on the bushings, thus won't help the binding much. The benefit is the small difference in the crown twisting which otherwise slacks off the effective stanchion angle. Going really slack the best solution would be either roller bearings (Lefty style...) or a linkage fork.

Am I remembering wrong, or did Chris Porter say that the current crop of single crown forks start to massively lose performance once you go sub 60 degrees? Hopefully we start to see light, 160-180 dual crown forks from the big players.

That syringe is from a jagwire pro bleed kit. 10/10 product, makes bleeding maguras not only possible but easy.

Interesting, the same rule states "The manufacturer may request a single prolongation of the prototype status if justified by relevant reasons", so they could potentially extend their commercialization status further (not sure if the prolongation is a whole year though).
