I'm pretty certain that Transmission doesn't "know" anything about position of ramp cogs. The system has a stiffer chain, more precise alignment between the derailleur and cassette, more force from the derailleur, and a refined ramp pattern. When you queue up multiple shifts, you immediately hear the bzzt bzzt bzzt of the derailleur moving, then the chain works it's way up/down the cassette. If it knew where the ramps were, you'd click click click, then it would break up the bzzt as gears changed. XTR shifting in my experience is quicker if you time shifts. T-Type (I have on an...

Yea that bike has been baked in for quite a while. I believe they shot the promo video and photos for it last fall. Assuming issues with supply chain, waiting on aluminum version and old stock to clear out of shops have delayed it. The shops stock is probably the big one. Shops bought a bunch of not-that-old Slashes for 2023 season and with bike glut and Specialized's insane pricing this year they've had trouble moving them out. Trek can't launch the new frame until the shop inventories are much lower, so they're waiting.

Push has used a pneumatic bump stop in their coil fork conversion kit for while, so I wouldn't be at all surprised it this fork used that same tech. That said, I'd agree those look like bleed ports.

It's less ideal, but I'd put it way down on my list of things I care about in brakes. The main reason I sold my Codes and went to Hayes is how incredibly light and smooth the lever feel is. I loved the ease of bleeding the Codes, availability of parts, contact point adjust, MatchMaker... but once I felt Dominion levers I had to have them. It must be a lot due to the piston/seal friction and return spring stiffness, because Codes have a bearing mount too.

While Loic and Finn's bikes are indeed oddly glued to the ground, to say that Fox and RS can only offer clicky adjustments is just not true. Fox offers multiple tune options on rear shocks to athletes and custom ones to the top athletes (most notably Greg). RS does the same.

These kind of covers are widespread now and they are eye-catching, and I think that's what their purpose is. Any thoughts on the shock being mounted on the rear triangle and side-loads?

You probably have more info than me, but to me it just seems like a specific delay per gear, I haven't seen any evidence of a position or resistance sensor. So the first shift gets fired off at any point on the cassette. Your fingers ability to sense the amount of effort required to move into the next gear could perform the same task. Or perhaps some kind of clutch in the shifter that only allows X pressure to be applied to the shifter cable.

The electronics are more crucial when you consider the narrow-wide cassette teeth and how the chain moves on the ramps. SRAM could easily make a mechanical direct mount derailleur (NX maybe) but only work with the older style eagle cassette and have zero issues. That's truly what I want; the better shift quality is a plus for me but not...

That looked pretty terrible. * one long line section with no other lines for a very very long time from the start * no rocks, roots, nothing, not a simple bit of a technical terrain (yes, at the bottom it was steep and there were jumps) * off cambers would most likely not allow for a race if rainy conditions the way they placed the track there But on the other hand that track ticks all the boxes for the new UCI format, especially for broadcast * full access to the track since it is on an open hill *...
