Got to say, this is a crazy take. with features this size it is absolutely essential to have plenty of time to practice and for most people it’ll take a tow in to get it right. IMO the more clean runs the better for the event and I enjoy watching the riders link things together rather than crashing or stopping halfway through. Tight racing on a track like this is the pinnacle of the sport.

Does your couch have a 61° headrest angle and 300 psi in the cushions? I don't think so. Us real hardcore couchers need to replace our bottom blankets and headrest bearings every week because we lounge too hard. And I don't trust no carpet fiber. Only aluminum can frames.

You've never seen this course in person. You also haven't seen the footage of Dave landing in the creek and spending the next 3 months in hospital down in Hobart before he can be flown home (I have). The idea that we should give less practice time so its harder is psychotic. One wrong line and its goodnight, season over. The team were quite close to getting some of the frenchies down this year, some accepted initially but then declined after, were not going to get them down here by making it even more dangerous for no reason. I agree. From my couch, Hardline doesn't look dangerous enough. I recommend more spinning blades and machine guns like "Death Race."

From all the vlogs I've seen from other riders, Jackson, Bernard, etc all thought he was crazy doing 95% laps all day, whereas they were all doing 80% for fewer laps. Apparently he was riding faster than anyone ever has in January before. Ronan was basically saying that that's where he thinks the sport will be in a few years, and he wants to be ahead of the curve. Essentially that hitting the gym and trail bikes over the winter then hopping on the big rig for DH laps a few weeks before the season is not going to cut...
