At the World Cup they had duel back then. The track started separate like a dual slalom but then merged for a head to head battle. I recall Cedric Gracia putting a sweet pass on Brian Lopes for the win at the WC there.

What was the dual racing that was going on? Did they also do 4x too back then? Why are those not happening these days? I just got into mountain biking 4 years ago, so I missed out on all of this.

Man that trail was so fun! True story- as a 16yr old jr DH shredder back in the day I helped build the course with HB & Chad Cheney. I shaped all the jumps and drops and was the guinea pig jumping everything! It was so cool to see all of the famous WC guys ride what I built and I even towed some female pros into the drops and road gap early in the week before practice started. It seems like forever ago now

So awesome to see that track open again! It was also used for a few NORBA National races. A few years ago with Greg Minnaar I was talking about how fun that track was and he agreed, said it was one of his favorites. It had everything, high speed, steeps and tech! I realize I'm getting old but I rode the NCS track at Deer Valley yesterday and it blows me away how we attacked those tracks on 26" wheeled bikes that were way too short for us.

That was excellent! If we can't have world cups more conversations like this between two legends would be a close second.

1/16/2020 12:46am Stoked Joey still has support. Super good guy and incredibly fast, but somehow still under most people's radar? I hope he gets some good international results if he ventures out to some different events.

1/15/2020 2:53am Niner Bikes is thrilled to welcome Kyle Warner to our extended family of Ninerds. One of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, he's a shredder on anything with two wheels. With a great background and skillset including everything from EWS enduro racing to stylish jibbing, Kyle brings great energy to Niner. "I really like the design of the bikes, I love the personality of the brand, and I love the fact that they just want to get more people outside and enjoying the sport," says Kyle.

1/8/2020 2:06am I love my Onyx hubs. Silent, they seem to coast faster than any other hub I have tried and the engagement is amazing. You really notice the engagement on technical climbs, way more control and confidence.

1/6/2020 9:05pm Loic definitely complained the most on social media about the Lourdes race going to shit. About the UCI not adjusting the schedule and whatnot. Minaar was the most chill about it it seemed despite also being caught out. Back to team rumors though don't wanna make this another unnecessary tangent

1/6/2020 9:04pm I remember when Matti Lehikoinen was in a similar situation when he won Champery (the round more associated with Sam Hill's 4th place finish when everyone else failed to just survive down the mountain in the rain and goop). To his credit, Matti claimed to have studied the forecast for race day and purposely qualified in a spot where he felt the weather won't be much a factor just yet. Anyway, had he not won another round like he did in Brazil shortly thereafter, he may have well been in the same shoes as Alex is in right now. I...

1/6/2020 9:03pm That's too bad. A win's a win in my book. The reality is, conditions play role in this sport. If we went back to look at every race that conditions changed mid event, we'd have a lot of top riders that 'stole' races. Nothing to be ashamed of. That's just how the dice roll sometimes. Hope he doesn't carry it as a burden.

1/6/2020 9:02pm That’s a tough one, because that’s part of racing and how it goes sometime. Sounds like he wants to play fair and square, but outside of timing you quali run it wasn’t in his control. If I remember right. A win is still a win, and I would hope he could be proud of a solid performance. Wish him the best!

1/6/2020 9:02pm No, Alex is saying that's how he feels about it, because he had very different conditions during his run, so in his mind he "stole" it. Which is a rough thing to carry around IMO, especially when he then went on to face quite a bit of bad luck/injuries etc. Wishing him well!

1/4/2020 4:11am Hmmmm .... Racing against the clock in World Cup is one thing. Racing in traffic with dudes and sponsors that have a ton on the line is another. It's probably a good thing that a rider has to be really committed to get into big time supercross. Just cause you have some good speed doesn't really mean you should be in there dicing with the dudes that are doing it for real. There's a lot that can go wrong there. At the same time, it shouldn't be too crazy difficult to get in; but it's totally reasonable to need a...
