Tatze pedal crank combo is a total copy of Dean Williamsons Flypaper setup from like 2007. Hope he gets a check or an attorney....

JD and his lil Bro were iconic local kids and there were a lot of them, that many of us tried to nurture and give wings in this savage sport...but this industry can be brutal, miss a beat/result and often you're done. It's a shame we let go of talent before it's prime. Looking forward to this one, a cool so cal bike family (Swanguens) that gave a lot to the scene. Cheers vital for continuing these interviews, share, like and subscribe! lol

Exactly, if Loic was as aero as Troy he would have one by even more time! Just kidding, believe me, aerodynamics are super important! But as Lee said below I would think height and width of rider and their tuck makes a much bigger impact on wind resistance. .5 of a second is a ridiculously small amount of time, you definitely can't say Loic has more skill than Troy. The difference could be a host of things, Loic's bigger front tire, Loic got slightly better backside on one or two doubles, Troy hit one rock a little harder than Loic...

Two thoughts... Bruni is the most composed bike rider of all time. So precise. So perfect. Troy is the best sportsman of all time. After so many second places, he still finds a way to congratulate the winner in a way that makes you go "woh, what a good dude".

Thanks! So it is a qualifier if the field is bigger than the final field limit. It is not seeding in any sense (seeding based on UCI points). Does it mention protected riders (as in how they qualify for protection (as this isn't a world cup))? It turns out this was just timed practice (as there were less than 80 finishers. a few protected riders dnf'ed and Minnaar dsq'ed) all a rider had to do was finish so all in but Nick.

I guess opposite to Masters Champs, they simply have to put some cap on the number of elite riders, otherwise there could be potentially too many riders? So that's why they run qualification, so even if there is less then 80 riders total, you have to qualify.

I'm so confused. Until this year there hasn't been qualifying or seeding runs at the World's, just timed practice. This year it seems to be called qualifying yet at the World Masters (also run by the UCI) they have a seeding run and it is labeled seeding, not qualifying. Also until this year the start order for finals was based on UCI points (not to be confused with World Cup points) which is why Laurie Greenland started last. Anyone's head spinning yet? So Danny Hart will be the last man down in the final? Not Greenland?
