The only question that matters to riders in warm climates (like this owner of two V2s): does the OneUp V3 actually hold grease for more than 2 weeks when it gets warm? I have to lube my V2s almost as often as my chain. IMO, a $60 price increase would be money *well spent* to eliminate this recurring headache.

i take back "the jump works" statement i made above. i had seen matt jones clip the other day (different angle). after watching bernard (one of the best jumpers on the planet?) and then jim's compression, clearly it's not a good jump. jim got pummeled. hope he's ok long-term. that was a severe hit to the head.

Wasn’t a fan of this feature before and definitely even less of a fan after seeing BK and Jim do it BK almost landed to far to the left and ran off the landing in that direction which looks like it would be disastrous. And the compression from the transition was enough to spit Jimbo off his bike. It’s just not a good feature, imo. Reminds me of Sam Reynolds (I believe it was) refusing to do a rampage run because they wouldn’t put up safety netting. They need netting on this.

If they don't want people practicing on the taped course, then they need to close it down or disallow it in the rulebook. Otherwise... these are professional athletes whose livelihoods depend on performance. They are going to seek every advantage they can, regardless of whether it's against the "spirit" of the sport or not. Same thing is happening at Big Mountain Enduro right now, with several professional teams already at Mt. Nebo this past weekend. The courses aren't taped yet, but everyone knows what the courses will be, so it's a pretty big advantage to get multiple extra days. Regardless...

A leather needle is what you want. Just ask the ladies at Joann or hobby lobby. and dental floss is great for heavy duty applications. I’ve used it to repair backpacks, my earliest repair was 15 years ago and still rock solid even though the pack is breaking down. but that other guy has a real good point about just using urethane and not penetrating the casing of you don’t have to. I reckon this needs some repair though.

There has been logging at these trails. It’s owned by a timber company and they log sections every 4-6 years it seems. I’m sure the logging disrupted habitat and was part of the cause of the attack. For those of you unfamiliar with the area this is basically where the wild meets humanity. To the West is the Seattle Metro area, to the East rolling hills that turn into the Cascades that have pretty limited access for the public. As population grows and more people go outside there will be more encounters with wild animals.

Couple more pieces of info on this: -It was a group of gravel cyclists, riding about 5 miles north of populated areas. About 4 miles from very popular MTB trails. -This is the second cougar attack on a gravel cyclist in 6 years in the immediate area. The other attack was 4 miles away. That first attack, in 2018, was on group of 2 people and resulted in a death.

Just some broad commentary to add here - whenever looking at year/year sales graphs or tables, its not the worst idea to go back to pre-COVID just to see what linear regression may have otherwise drawn if COVID didn't happen. In many cases we're seeing things track back to an average of sorts if you equalize for "all the demand that was pulled forward". Its not perfect math, but its worth noting for those who are looking for "what does normal/baseline" look like?

While I work in a different industry, Construction/Custom Homebuilding, I saw a similar thing happen in my field. People getting decks built, bathroom renovations, buying a new home, etc. earlier than they would have under normal circumstances, pulling sales from the future into the present. The major difference I noticed was that none of my suppliers or contractors ramped up their production or workforce to meet demand. General contractors just had to accept longer lead times for everything. I went from ordering cabinets 5-6 weeks out to 10-12 weeks, garage doors went from 3 weeks to 16 weeks. Even scheduling...
