Slashzariel Added a reply to 2026 MTB Tech Rumors and Innovation - Longer and Slacker
4/29/2026 6:36am It's not about the rotor's thickness but pad's thickness. I have HS2 (2mm) in front and xt (1,8mm) in the rear, both have identical throw with xt brakes. I wonder if I can fit 2,3mm though - then maybe at the very beginning of the pads throw would be reduced.

11/10/2025 10:12am Ah, another season and another leaking xt lever to my collection. They are cheap af but it's a bit dissapointing - the collection is already quite impressive. Did you try to swap the piston to some aftermarket ones from aliexpress?

3/1/2024 6:04am HT PA03A are great pedals with good durability. I have several pairs and they last a long time. 85kg's and very much like to shred.

2/27/2024 11:38pm Ignore any post above that mentions sewing: for cut that does not touch the casing, there is ZERO reason to perforate the inside layer of rubber keeping that tire inflated. Just buy a tube of urethane sealant like Seam Grip for $8, clean the slash, and seal it w/ overlap of 3mm+ on each side. A quality urethane sealant is far more durable than Shoe Goo, and repairs I've made this way typically outlast the tread life of the tire. If you re-seal the tube of Seam Grip well in airtight container (e.g. 2x ziplocs) and store cool, it will...

2/27/2024 7:05am For sure, but if someone needs it (you down the line maybe?) this is a possible solution. And putting a patch over it.

2/27/2024 4:40am Since it's not leaking air etc I'm not going to sew it, just ride as long as it lasts

2/27/2024 12:07am It's a tubeless setup with rimpact insert inside, ridden hard in giant reign. Thanks for your inputs, I will probably still ride it with a spare in my trunk!

2/26/2024 2:17am I just noticed a slash on my dhr dd after only few hours of riding it. Cord / butyl insert does not seem to be touched, it's so shallow I belive it's just a rubber that was affected. Would you still ride it though? What are your experiences with damages like these?
