You've obviously never ridden alloy pulleys. They are noisy as hell and shift like crap. And Eagle plastic pulleys last longer than the alloy/steel derailleur pivots.

Yes, "upgrading" from $15 to a $700 or $3000 problem. WTF, you can't bend back a derailleur or frame w/ an alignment tool.

I think MX votes on retiring a number if a rider was significant enough to warrant it, but typically no they don't retire the number when the rider retires.

Don't love the idea of permanent numbers. The idea of keeping numbers consistent through each season seems more reasonable. It would also help if teams weren't switching kits quite so often. Between practice kits, race kits, and special-edition kits that are sometimes only used for one weekend, I often can't easily tell what team (let alone which racer) I'm looking at unless there's a clear view of the bike, or it's somebody with a RedBull/Monster/etc. helmet (RIP Greg's Clif Bar helmets...) Seems like keeping consistent jerseys/kits throughout the season would make it easier to identify riders than having to re-learn...

Sorry, but with a spread between bikes of 5lbs, $4000, 40mm travel, Recons vs Minions, & piggyback vs straight shocks, this isn't even a remotely cohesive test field. If this hodgepodge is all you could swing in this supply-chain-challenged time, fine, but please don't pretend you're testing a single class of bike. Weights, costs, & travel need to be far more focused, & all bikes shod in identical test tires to properly level the playing field.

I put second-largest oversized pin set in my older 210, and it eliminated creaking while reducing play significantly. While I'm grateful to have two quiet posts again, I'd gladly trade silence for seals that actually keep gunk out and lube inside the post. I've got over 10k miles on these posts, but even after multiple rebuilds, I haven't found the plastic bushings to make much of a difference: it would be nice if the pins wouldn't give them "love bites" but trimming those off with a knife does far less to restore free movement than adding fresh lube.

Had the same issue with the grease pushing past the seals. I needed some SRAM Butter/Slick Honey etc. but couldn't really find anything in stock so I bought this stuff called RSP Slick Kick. It feels like just another Slick Honey variant, but I used it on the OneUp dropper when I did a full clean, and interestingly it barely pushes past the seals unlike when I used SRAM butter. Maybe it's even lighter, not sure.

Ditto! I literally have *exactly* the same experience with my two OneUp 210s. The fact that Vital's reviewer did not mention the well-known tragic flaw that 100% of OneUp's posts develop over time shows that he simply didn't ride it much. Instead of bringing out an even longer version of this post, OneUp's engineers should have spent their energy developing *new seals* that keep out contaminants that consistently clog the post and keep in the lube required to keep it moving smoothly. I have two 210 one up V2's. On two different bikes. Both are <1 year old Initially they were faultless. After about 4 months they started to get "sticky" and wouldn't extend fully. Initially I thought it was simple as air pressure loss or the seatpost collar was a little tight but this wasn't the case. It seems like the threaded collar has a lot of added friction at the seals, once undone the seat springs up like a torpedo! I clean the post and apply a small amount of slickoleum to the white bushing clip and it's good for...

Quite the labor of love, well done! QQ: where did you get those custom bolts for the Enduro linkage? Have done extensive color-tuning of hardware on my Enduro build, but gave up on the proprietary pivot bolts.

It's a cool idea but with long travel droppers what exactly is the downside to running a bit of negative tilt? 180-200mm+ you aren't going to ever have the saddle in the way. Assuming you ride somewhere that is climb then descend and not rolling/flat, no downside to a few degrees negative tilt for climbing.

Trail Labs just did an excellent job on my DPX2 for $135 including return shipping. And that covered a re-valve of the rebound stack. You book your day of service in advance so they have a 24-36hr turn around.

This is good news and hopefully they keep shock services near $100. Then you don’t have the philosophical dilemma of whether to pay $220 dollars to service a $500 shock, or just buy a new one. (*Never mind…. They want $200 for shock services on just about everything. I’d rather just send it to Risseracing.com for $175 . They did a great job the past two times.)

Endcaps? Hard pass. Haven't had to worry about losing those in decades. Dual-clamp grips died because it sucks to have something rigid dig into the outside of your palm when you grab the end of the bars. Why rewind the clock back to both of those headaches?
