2 weeks ago I finally got around to having time to set up the new crankbrothers synthesis wheelset from vital fantasy (still so stoked thank you vital and crankbrothers). Pulled the tires and tannus tubeless off my oem set (which I can mount by hand without Tyre levers). Try to install them on the new set. 29r front goes on easy by hand. 27.5 rear is unbelievably tight to get the last little bit and needs levers to get on. Won’t hold air longer than 20min. Spray it with soapy water and it blows bubbles around the valve stem and...

A guy I know was on his first solo mountain bike ride when he started cramping up. Had that first bike / new hobby stoke and was trying out the route we’d shown him the week prior. He hadn’t done a ton of long cardio activities in a while, and ended up getting roasted on a hot day. Mega cramps had him walking the final trail back, with some sit downs and some groaning. Those really gnarly leg cramps that just debilitate you. Not particularly funny. Until a rider came by and helped by offering water and an energy packet...

How many links is to many? By that i mean, does the extra complication add so much benefit compared to a crab?

So, it depends on who's designing it. I've been developing a 6-bar mid-pivot suspension system for the past year and I found that having an idler pulley on a twin-link chainstay that rotates around a virtual centre is very good for the anti-squat. My theory is that it will pedal much like a VPP but will have the anti-rise properties...

truly, re-animating a second time to enter your third iteration of existence is about as on-brand as one can be for an entity named Nukeproof. One could argue they get notably Nukeproof-ier with each resurrection guess they should have gone with Nukeproof. then Nukeproofer. then it could now be Nukeproofest. 🤷‍♂️

Being from the UK "Trigger's Broom" is probably more relatable than The Ship of Theseus. 😂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUl6PooveJE

Totally respect your point, I just wanted to make a joke about the Ship of Theseus paradox, using the Ship of Theseus paradox.

Interesting article in the economist today (paywall so not linked) talking about the continuing rise of commuter ebikes as a supplement to (or Infact replacing) a second family car. Brands such as Tern or Urban Arrow are apparently selling much better than the general market. Anything that makes it into even slightly more mainstream media is worth noting. If I didn't live somewhere where it's -30C on occasion I'd certainly be considering one considerably more than a e-mtb. My anecdotal observation is that I'm in the minority commuting on a human powered bike these days.

More on this, the shape says Yeti but it's not their usual Sixfinity layout? I know from messing with 6-Bars in Linkage that you can get a similar effect from those twin chainstay links as you can from the sliding link too. The shock layout compromised water bottle mounting and the sliding link compromised seatpost insertion, so IF (and it's...

teams don't have to post their rosters. Historically the teams will have done a videos etc to announce a new riders only to have the UCI pre-empt them by announcing the teams. My guess is the UCI will announce the team status and who is on the teams at the same time.

Do the teams also have to post their race roster? Or will we simply know which Teams are registered (e.g., Commencal Les Ores) but not who is on said team (e.g., Vali).

At least we should know teams relatively soon. The announcement of who gets 2 year status etc is 3 weekends after the last Tuesday of October. Which this weekend. The deadline to register team rosters is tomorrow.

The one way it would make sense to me is if Crestline becomes the Frameworks E-bike sponsor and the Crestline DH bike goes away. To afford AG, Dak, Asa on one team. It's the American dream, along with AG or Dak riding Yeti, but it's also financially 2+2=5
