There have been a few almost losses the last two years who at least tried or were open about what was happening, and come back swinging like Rocky, Kona, Nukeproof. They have all come back in someway and people celebrated them coming back because of the way they handled it. Revel as well, although they were a bit tougher with customer support. Then there are YT and Pole. If two brands stayed dead because of the way they handled their customers and riders very publicly, I don't think a lot of people who cry about it.

You gotta pay to produce the best marketing content they have? That seems a bit backwards.

The pivotless variant is the Phoenix which is a flex tail and thus a DW5. But it's flexing instead of pivoting. A pivot is technically needed. A 5bar layout won't really work. Arherton bikes do have the pivot and are named DW6.

" Can we welcome you as a regular reader and commenter in our forum from now on? I would really like to do that and I will try it too. However, the last few weeks have shown how little time is up to date. Nevertheless, the direct exchange is extremely important to me, and whenever possible, I will participate. Thank you for the interview, Markus!" Why does it read like a teenage fan is getting an opportunity to interview their favorite celebrity? It gives me 'state-sponsored media' vibes, which is always a concern coming from Germany! (jk)

What is wild to me, when I head to the other site the top comment is quick to scapegoat PE as the problem. While it very well may have been part of the issue, we can all agree it was not all of the issue. Looks like the PR tour is off with a bang...

So Markus (CEO of new company) was busy getting the new YT set up in July while Markus (CEO of old company) was busy running a 50% off online flash sale just prior to declaring old YT insolvent in mid-July. Busy man that Markus. The press release containing two pictures of the guy, one of which is in front of a "WE ARE YT" sign is priceless. Are both pictures of new company CEO Markus? Or maybe one is old company CEO Markus? It's really hard to tell.

What I don't fully understand is why we aren't seeing needle bearings in frame picot locations yet? Works well for mx bikes and the forces and moisture seen there are way worse then mtb. Solid lube bearings should atleast become standard. I threw some solid lubes in a linkage spot on an old bike I used to kill constantly. Immediately went a couple years without needing replaced.

20 bearings is only if you're going double row in some locations and use a trunnion shock. If I wasn't designing a bike around existing hardware (broke student problems) I'd knock off the trunnion shock in favour of conventional and replace the double row bearings with a beefier captive single row, which reduces the total to a slightly less insane...

Ive had three pairs of Dominions and they have less free stroke than any other brake I've used at ~14mm. All very consistent. Definitely don't need long throw for light stroke.

Allow me to pass out tin foil hats. One of these riders is an employee for Faction Bike Studio (Engineering house (MULTIPLE bike brands use their services)). What are the odds of both of them being employees? Being that they're QC based (relatively short driving distance to Highland) - could it be an eastern Canadian Brand (*cough* Devinci?), OR, Faction might just have a DH bike development in the works for an undisclosed brand (which seems more likely).

I have broken my finger, elbow and collarbone at various stages of the last 15 years, most recent big crash was a worrying concussion. I never for a split second considered stopping biking. I can vividly recall my exact state of being at 3 separate times when I could not get a tubeless tyre to hold after hours of faffing about, I came so close to just dumping all my gear in the bin and taking up knitting or any other sensible hobby. I had a wheel that had a broken nipple inside the rim for 6 months that I...

I felt this story in the marrow of my bones. I haven’t had your exact experience on the same wheel, but every part of your story I have experienced on one day or another. In a related story, last month I finally decided that I will never ever buy the small roll of tubeless tape or small bottle of sealant ever again. If I change rim size and have 30 meters of extra 30mm tape sitting around, so be it. Cannot afford the existential pain of having 6” too little rim tape ever again.
