Hey look what I found in the parts bin: This was one of the last things I worked on at RS before I left... goal was to control big hits by weakening or slowing down the return of the air spring. I run my setup with a lot of spring and no damping, so getting bucked on big hits is part of the deal. This thing 'gulps' all the air in the positive chamber on compression and lets it out with a tiny delay (since it all has to go through the tiny hole to get out). No delay on...

My name is Luis Arraiz, I am a frame design engineer and specialize in bicycle vehicle dynamics, kinematics and geometry design. I was the founder of K9 Industries Ltd in 2005 in the UK. I worked at CSG (now Pon) from 2015-2023 where I was responsible for the geometry, kinematics and packaging for all the full suspension bikes both analogue and e-bikes for both Cannondale and GT bikes and also several GT hardtails. I introduced the concept of size specific geometry and kinematics for Cannondale dubbed “Proportional Response”. I am now back to the UK, where I am a senior...

Can almost guarantee the bike Nina is on is not a "V10 prototype" - it's likely the next version of the Nomad, which may do what many have been asking for, accommodate a dual crown fork. Seems crazy to me that the current version Nomad cannot handle a dual crown. Speaking from personal experience, having a dedicated downhill bike is hard to justify for 99% of riders. But what makes a ton of sense is an Enduro bike that can also run a dual crown fork and properly cover park duties. Much more utility. I don't think this has anything...

It looks like the castings are significantly longer at the bottom, which would allow for longer stations and thus better bushing overlap. The damper assembly would then also need to be moved down and slightly out of its usual position.

I run the T4V4s with Trickstuff pads and Daechle HD rotors and they don't squeal unless wet.

Mine are also silent except for when they start out wet but the noise goes away once they are up to temperature. I use Hope 2.3 mm discs and sintered pads.

If you reset your pistons, pad retract is always relative to the braking surface so you have the same pad clearance regardless of rotor thickness. Increasing rotor thickness will only impact the clearance/dead stroke if you don’t reset the pistons, but over time as your pads wear it will work its way to the same spot.

I've had T4 and there were a bit noisy with the hope green pads. Using trickstuff or Galfer green and it was dead silent, no matter the weather. Sinter green are also very very quiet pads.

If you’re talking about that signature little high-pitched squeal as the pads engage, yep, still there…

Not sure if this has been posted but got a picture of the bottom of the Brosnan's Boxxer at the US Open. I assume this is what's on the Zebb too.

I never felt like the old, open-lever bleed process was that much of a hassle to begin with, apart from the little puddle of brake fluid that invariably ends up on the floor, but yes the new bleed port makes the whole thing much cleaner for sure. I've always been able to get really good bleeds without any trouble with Hope brakes, so the port is just more convenient and less messy (the process itself doesn't change, you still do a top-down bleed by pushing fluid through the system from the lever and out of the caliper end). The bleed...
