Looks pretty reasonable, I'm surprised Rossi stuck with it after some misses the last few years but they seem to be determined to make this happen. This is a solid first full line up.

The old frames broke due to poor design/manufacturing. Factor of safety was much too low. They don't have that issue anymore. If you swap the link on a bike that's going to break anyway it will still break so not really a good example. In fact if you made it less progressive you'd break it even worse when the shock slammed into the bottom out bumper. Do we do mechanical testing? It would be wasteful to break frames just to do it since all you would learn is that you have to bottom out really hard to break it. You...

The largest forces a frame ever sees are when you slap bottom. The links make it harder to do that so it actually helps your frame hold up if anything. As for force on the frame at full compression when it's not a bottom out event, there is an 8% increase. If you're worried about that then be worried about going from a 600 lb spring to a 650. Rest assured, you're frame won't rip itself apart.

Man, when I think DIY, I think "bike rack made of ABS plastic," or "rubber chicken trail bell," not "homemade electronic suspension analysis tool." Just in case any of you don't know my reference to the rubber chicken, it's a must-see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4N-1x0_-n0

How much does it cost and where do I signup for a test unit? Smile I can do DIY if needed given a specsheet too.

Go big - and then go home! There's a bit of a backstory here, as the jump was more of a stealth strike mission to build and ride (not sanctioned in any way of course). Apparently it was even torn down the day before Oli went to hit it, so it had to be rebuilt in a day and then sent early the following morning. It was taken down by Oli after he was done, so no need to go looking for it (as if anybody in their right mind would, LOL!) We don't know for a fact if it's...

i put this on our instagram feed too, but check out kovarik on a 26" 2003-ish Intense M1 vs derrick nobman (OG as they come) on a 29er Session. kovarik did his seeding run on the M1 as a throwback thing, so the comparison is pretty cool to see. nobman is a large human and always dwarfed his DH bikes. it's rad to see how well big riders have it these days, even if derrick still seems too big for the bike. this was derrick's first ride on a DH bike in 11 years. here's derrick on an iron...

Yeah, I kinda have to agree. I know it's someone's bike that they probably love the look of, but to me, it's very mismatched.

Color scheme doesnt seem very well planned out. The mix of red parts, blue grips, kashima/gold and orange spring kill it for me. Too bad, thee frame color is sweet.

When the boxxer has charger damper it's not a "RC" anymore, it's boxxer team then. Sweet build anyway, love to all demos!

Things are a bit more rational /civil on the Vital comment section. Pinkbike bros will be losing their collective sh*t tomorrow once this hits the main page.

full commencal / vallnord press release here. https://www.vitalmtb.com/news/press-release/COMMENCAL-VALLNORD-DH-TEAM-… - they're on enve wheels and cockpit, chris king bits and bell helmets. no team rider changes. the coolest part of the PR besides the nasty roost and whips being thrown is seeing the bikes with the stock idler and the modified one. it's just like they did last year, but it looks like they have a cleaner version of the multi-position idler.
